Maldives was honored as the Best Beach Destination in Aisa at the Moscow International Travel and Tourism Exhibition (MITT) 2019 held from March 12-14, 2019.
Maldives was showcased at the Moscow International Travel & Tourism Exhibition (MITT) by Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) together with 34 representatives from 19 companies from the tourism industry of Maldives. MMPRC officials met with industry partners as well as travel trade media in order to discuss the possibilities of joint promotions to further strengthen the market throughout the fair.
The Russian market has shown an increase in the overall outbound travel and a steady growth in arrivals to the Maldives. By the end of 2018, a total of 70,935 tourists arrived in the Maldives which is an increase of 14.5 percent compared to 2017.
MITT is Russia’s largest and longest running travel exhibition. With over 1,799 exhibiting companies and 239 destinations, it is the key meeting place for the industry and an opportunity to catch up with colleagues and clients. It enables exhibitors to increase awareness of their destination, gain a real feel for the Russian travel market, and gauge demand for their services.
