10 reasons why we love LUX* Resorts and Hotels

We go on holiday to escape the routine… Stay at a conventional resort and before long you’ll know where everything is. That won’t happen at LUX* Resorts and Resorts. At LUX* every moment matters. The have created simple, fresh and sensory experiences to indulge you throughout your stay. We absolutely love the attention to detail and the lengths they go to surprise and delight their guests.  With generous touches and creative details around every corner here are ten reasons why we love LUX* Resorts and Hotels…

Al fresco film nights at Cinema Paradiso

Beanbags? Check. Fresh popcorn? Absolutely. Ice Cream? Of course. The al fresco boutique cinemas show cult classics, theme nights, family-friendly blockbusters and much more all under the stars and completely on the house! With state of the art rear projectors, wireless headphones, luxurious setting areas and exquisite snacks, Cinema Paradiso is a huge hit!

Message in a bottle

LUX* are all about keeping things fun and spontaneous! Every day is a treasure hunt with delightful surprises hidden around every corner. Spot a bottle buried in the sand with a message inside. No it’s not an ancient SOS from a stranded castaway… instead, you will find a gift: a candle-lit dinner for two by the water’s edge, a spa treatment, or a scuba diving lesson. Whatever the reward, it is on the house!

Phone Home

Not all ‘smart’ phones are mobile. Say goodbye to roaming charges and those nasty phone bill surprises whilst you are away. Instead, make the most of LUX*’s vintage red telephone boxes… step inside and call friends and family for free. There’s only one condition- you’re not allowed to call the office!

Make a wish

Close your eyes and make a wish. At every LUX* resort, you’ll find a Tree of Wishes sculpture. Upon check-in, you’ll be presented with a unique ribbon and tag with your initials on. Tie the ribbon around one of the enchanting branches and make your wish… We can’t promise that it will come true but once a year one lucky winner will win a free LUX* holiday!

The Sound of LUX* App

Bored with your music library? Solution: these downloadable playlists curated by LUX*’s professional music maestros ensure that every step of your stay- from basking on the beach to pre-dinner drinks, has a soundtrack to match your mood!

ICI

A holiday without ice cream is like an infinity pool without water. So LUX* have created their very own ice-cream brand called ‘ICI’. Boutique ice-cream stall are dotted around each resort serving these delicious homemade treats, including hand-waffled cones, glorious toppings and tailor-made flavours! Our favourite combo is Sicilian Pistachio Variegato and Madagascan Vanilla!

LUX* Me

Your vitality-boosting regime will ensure you leave LUX* re-energised and fitter than when you arrived!

Café LUX*

Perfecting the art of the perfect coffee, Café LUX* roast their fresh cocoa beans on-site so you can enjoy the most aromatic bean to cup coffee! They will even take you on a behind the scenes tour…

Panama Hat Station

Lightweight, brimmed straw headgear from Ecuador is an essential for any shade-seeker! Whether you prefer the traditional black-grosgrain ribbon or boldly hued band, browse the LUX* Panama Station and their range of hats at the pop-up stall!

Aperitivo

LUX* have introduced a new wandering Aperitivo Bar, designed to tantalise the taste buds before dinner with tasty tapas and signature cocktails created by their expert mixologist… Of course, this is no ordinary Aperitivo Bar, the renowned LUX* twist is that you won’t find this bar in the same place twice! One night it could be on the beach for some barefoot nibbles in the sand, another night it could be nestled away under some fairy lit palm trees…

Experience LUX* for yourself… with beautiful properties in the Maldives, Mauritius and Reunion Island which Indian Ocean Idyll will you choose?

Kanuhura Maldives: An All New USD 42 Million Gypset Style Resort

Kanuhura Maldives – thundi.com – Maldives Wedding & Honeymoon Destination Blog

Kanuhura Maldives - thundi.com - Maldives Wedding & Honeymoon Destination Blog  Kanuhura Maldives, owned and managed by Sun Resorts, has shared the wishes of its high profile, long-term guests with the world by re-imaging a property consisting of three islands in the northern quadrant of the Lhaviyani Atoll.
With as many as 15 annual visits, lovers and dreamers who first set foot on the soft sands of Kanuhura as couples or young families were the cornerstone for this evolution.
This nautical bohemian design concept over the unique three island experience is by former Gold Key Designer of the Year and Founder of London-based Muza Lab, Inge Moore, in cooperation with Hirsch Bedner Associates, that revitalises the identity of the resort by focusing on the idea of “Gypset”.

Kanuhura Maldives - thundi.com - Maldives Wedding & Honeymoon Destination Blog
Gypset is a new way of life, according to New York-based journalist and author Julia Chaplin, who wrote about a generation of travellers who she defined as part Gypsy, driven by freedom and escapism, and part Jetset, a reflection of their success and appreciation of the finer things in life.

Kanuhura Maldives - thundi.com - Maldives Wedding & Honeymoon Destination Blog

The USD 42 Million design overhaul of Kanuhura, combined with the buying of the Masleggihura island, was overseen by Sun Resorts CEO David Anderson, who appointed Robert Hauck, formerly of Raffles Hotels and Resorts and Asia’s top sports and lifestyle complex, Thanyapura Phuket as General Manager to lead the resort.
“We have a uniquely sheltered location over three islands and are blessed with a heritage of repeat guests over the past 20 years,” said Mr Hauck. “We have grown up together and are now enhancing this by developing experiences for guests where they can be free, unconventional, open, stay fit and totally relax.”

“We offer everything from total escapism and tranquility on Masleggihura island to a 300-metre sea swim to Jehunuhura island, a 2.25km round island run on Kanuhura and soon to be launched Project South which will be the first martial arts academy in the Maldives led by two-time world Muay Thai champion, Irshaad Sayed.”

Guests can experience a local culinary masterclass at A Mano. A Mano, which means “touched by the hand”, is an ethos that is celebrated throughout every aspect of the island’s kitchen. All produce is free range, seasonal and mainly from small growers and producers – a celebration of traditional home cooking found on the trade routes.

Kokaa Spa, named after the all-white local butterfly, features Marma therapy that focuses on releasing energy from 103 pressure points in your body. It was recently recognised as one of the “World’s Best Spas” in National Geographic’s Spa & Wellness Collection.

Flytographer Photographer in Maldives would change your island Vacation

rad1_ithaa_undersea_restaurant_4507

Your days of awkwardly wielding a selfie stick over the beaches of Maldives

are over.

Flytographer, the brainchild of entrepreneur Nicole Smith, is basically the Airbnb for vacation Instagram photos. The app connects tourists, honeymooners, and out-of-towners with local photographers, eliminating the need for selfie sticks and unnecessary “Will you take our photo?” conversations. The idea sparked when Smith, an avid traveler herself, was vacationing in Paris to spend time with her best friend. “Disappointed with awkward selfies and the blurry photos strangers had snapped, we asked a local friend to take some candid shots of us enjoying the city together,” explains Smith in an interview with InStyle. “After 20 minutes of this, I looked at the images on my iPhone and realized I had the best souvenir possible: priceless memories with my BFF in Paris.”

Aside from the obvious Instagram value, Smith’s service creates timeless memories while supporting local artists and the community at large. With over 350 hand-selected local photographers from around the world, she assures that the experience is more like “strolling with a fun, local friend” than hiring a professional photographer.

Would you consider hiring a Flytographer on your next vacation? Search photographers by city here. With  more then 320 Photographers around the globe, On every place you would holiday around the world,

6 of the best honeymoon resorts in the Maldives

Wedding in the Maldives islands, Its celebration of happiness in the middle of ocean with World class Accomodation and Food on your Holiday package, Photo by Asad
Celebrate tying the knot in one of the most beautiful beach destinations on the earth

White sandy beaches, crystal clear lagoons and dazzling astronomical displays: it’s not difficult to see why the seductive islands of the Maldives are a popular honeymoon destination for newlyweds.

After the emotional rollercoaster involved in planning a wedding, the sunny Maldives is a peaceful getaway for couples to unwind and enjoy time away from London life in the idyllic and peaceful waters of the Indian Ocean.

Looking for the low-down on where to stay? We’ve rounded up six of the most luxurious resorts to make any honeymoon unforgettable.

Per Aquum Huvafen Fushi

Butlers bringing you brunch while you paddle, private sands and an underwater spa experience: boutique hotels don’t come much more blissful than Per Aquum Huvafen Fushi. Honeymooners can book a large and luxurious deluxe beach bungalow which opens out onto white sands and beach views, or get away from it all in the lagoon-like infinity edge pool which bleeds into the watery horizon of the Indian Ocean. Push the boat out – literally, and add a private charter to your booking – a 680-foot motor cruiser with an onboard wine cellar.

Conrad Maldives Rangali

Couples will be whisked away by seaplane to this paradise island resort, where you can enjoy unique experiences such as swimming with whale sharks, before soaking up the sun, cocktail in hand, and falling back onto fluffy white pillows in a romantic wooden villa. Setting it apart from its competitors, this idyllic escape has an unusual setting for wining and dining – the world’s first and only all-glass undersea restaurant. Ithaa sits five metres below the sea’s surface, offering 180-degree panoramic views of the vibrant coral gardens and natural wildlife surrounding it.

Ayada

Sitting on the southern rim of the Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll and just 30km north  of the Equator, Ayada is  big enough for adventurous couples to get lost on, perfect for walking, cycling and exploring the stunning natural beauty of the Maldives. Middle Eastern inspired villas provide a cosy and quiet retreat for a romantic getaway, while there’s plenty of places for active couples to unwind – from turkish baths to beach-side beds.

ayada.com

Six Senses Laamu

The only resort in the Laamu Atoll, this secluded nirvana will bring you to a place where dolphins swim. The resort is a combination of on-land and over-water villas constructed of sustainable materials, leading to the palm-filed shore. Even the fussiest of eaters will feel at home here – there are several restaurants to choose from, where Laamu’s chefs from East and West prepare delicious dishes from produce grown in the island’s organic gardens.

sixsenses.com

Naladhu

Naladhu is a tropical island resort sharing a clear lagoon with its sister resorts Dhigu and Veli. Maldivian for “beautiful island,” Naladhu offers swaying palms and endless turquoise waters. The resort is notoriously difficult to visit, as there are only 20 expansive villas and houses – so make sure to book well in advance. Each cosy bolthole has a magnificent private pool fronting the azure Indian Ocean and a romantic elegance that will set the mood for newlyweds.

naladhu.anantara.com

Maalifushi by Como

Maalifushi by COMO is the first luxury resort in the Maldives that opened in the picturesque sands of the Thaa Atoll in the archipelago’s southwest. Luxury comes on tap, with a COMO Shambhala spa, world-class yoga facilities and exceptional cuisine along with the Maldives’ vibrant marine life (whale shark sightings are common). With 33 overwater villas and garden suites, this is the ultimate paradise retreat for signing-off from the city and unwinding in natural paradise.

The Maldives voted top location for honeymoon couples

Ethunuge kula gandu haadha fakkaley, I felt in in Love with the day and the scene in, Can you list the colors on this Image?

When it comes to the honeymoon, will you be shunning two weeks on the beach for somewhere off the beaten track? Travel brand Kuoni has revealed its latest report showing the Maldives scores as the top location for honeymoon couples, but also that adventure holidays are growing in popularity over stay-put beach breaks

Couples see the Maldives as the ultimate luxury island paradise, with the holiday destination scoring the top spot for honeymooners, Kuoni’s worldwide trends report shows.

With its unique collection of all-island resorts and over-water villas, the Maldives continues to set the pace in luxury travel and scores higher than any other destination on customer satisfaction.

The worldwide holiday company has seen holidays with an adventure, cultural or touring element as part of the itinerary grow at twice the pace of stay-put beach breaks over the past two years, and the report has also unveiled the top locations for honeymoons in 2016.

Same-sex honeymoons are also on the rise, according to Kuoni. Over 15,000 same-sex marriages have taken place since it was introduced in England and Wales in 2014, according to the Office for National Statistics. The increase has resulted in demand for luxury travel advice from companies able to guide couples on the legal and cultural positions in different destinations.

When it comes to creating big life moments, from seeing wildlife in its natural habitat to experiencing iconic sights such as the Great Wall of China, more than *60 per cent of British adults are prepared to invest more than the average holiday in making their wish list a reality.

Other key findings about honeymoons include:

Snorkelling with turtles in turquoise-blue waters remains one of the top wish list experiences for honeymoon couples this year.
Honeymooners are now spending an average of £5,902 in total on their trip, up from £5,743 last year, backing up a trend for more adventure, upgraded luxury and once-in-a-lifetime experiences.
The most popular month to book a Kuoni honeymoon is January.
The average honeymoon duration is 13 days.
11.6 per cent of Kuoni honeymoon bookers put their honeymoon on a John Lewis gift list in 2015.
Indonesia has seen the biggest rise in the top 10 and Bali is a favourite as it’s a perfect destination to visit weather-wise during the wedding-boom months.
Vietnam has jumped five places in the past year to the number 11 spot, showing the popularity of adventure touring over a classic beach stay.

As the number of honeymooners increase there is a huge demand of Professional Photographers, Asad has been working with couples who travel to Maldives for their Honeymoon, His Hospitality Industry expertise and Professional, Book a Photoshoot with asad and get your holiday photoshoots.

A HONEYMOON IN PARADISE IN THE MALDIVES

Kandholhu Island – A haven of tranquility and serenity in Kandholhudhoo in the northern Maldives

The Maldives are regularly touted as the world’s top destination for honeymooners, and as Emma Krieger discovers, the pearls of the Indian Ocean, as they’re popularly known, indeed live up to the hype.

Kandholhu Island - A haven of tranquility and serenity in Kandholhudhoo in the northern Maldives

Situated to the South West of Sri Lanka, the Maldives are made up of a double chain of 26 atolls, or an impressive 1,192 islands, which form a geographically striking – and from a seaplane, a visually stunning – archipelago.
Can we really dance standing in the middle of Indian ocean in?

With its cobalt blue waters, fresh lagoons, sandy white beaches and clichéd swaying palm trees, the Maldives is an idyllic tropical haven for honeymooners, and one of the few places around the world where you can enjoy complete and utter privacy.

Arriving in the Maldivian capital of Malé the salt air and startling bright sunshine help to shake away the jetlag cobwebs; the airport transfer to Gasfinolhu Island via speedboat also does the trick.

Maldives

I am making my way to the luxurious Finolhu Villas, a Club Med outpost which opened to guests in early 2015 in a deliberate move by the 65-year-old French resort chain to branch out into more high-end accommodation options.

Coming into the island’s dock several of Finolhu Villas’ staff are waiting to greet me with watermelon mocktails and ice water. I get my bearings for a moment before hopping aboard a golf buggy headed towards my Sunrise Villa.

Maldives Tops Favourite List for Chinese Tourists

she3442re-164079-Private Dining

Maldives has topped a list of 20 island destinations most favoured by Chinese tourists, who have been the world’s No 1 cross-border visitors for the past three years, spending billions of dollars on outbound tours.

Honeymoon Couple in maldives Chris & Venessa

The announcement was made at the 2015 International Islands Tourism Conference in east China’s Zhejiang Province.

Taiwan, Bali, and Thailand’s Phuket Island have also been favoured by Chinese tourists in the list, which was created after a poll by the conference’s organisation committee and after evaluation by an expert panel.

The poll began in June, drawing more than three million responses for more than 70 destinations. The poll was conducted via the committee’s website, and some other portals and microblog services.

Chinese islands filled five spots on the list, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.

China has been the world’s No 1 source of cross-border tourists since 2012, according to the World Tourism Organisation. In 2013, the organization said, Chinese outbound travelers spent a total of USD 129 billion.

China’s outbound tourists made nearly 24 million trips to islands in 2014, and the number is likely to exceed 30 million this year.

China’s outbound tourism has grown dramatically in recent months despite its economy economy contacted sharply. The World Bank recently revised its projections for China’s economic growth from 7.1 per cent to 6.9 per cent.

The conference, which was held in Zhujiajian Island of Zhoushan City, was organized by China’s National Tourism Administration and the provincial government of Zhejiang province.

MALDIVES – Indian Ocean’s Leading Beach Destination – World Travel Awards 2015

tumblr_nus11cVQxQ1tmgzgro1_1280

Maldives with its fine white sandy beaches has been awarded as the Indian Ocean’s Leading Beach Destination in the 2015 World Travel Awards which was held at the Kempinski Seychelles Resort Baie Lazare.

Maldives is renowned for its white beaches all throughout the country. No beach is any shade darker than the colour we call “white”. Most of the beaches of these uniquely formed islands are fine sand beaches though you might come across coral pieces washed on the shore. This should come as no surprise as the Maldive islands are built on coral beds and have delicate eco-systems and a fragile environment.

The beaches of the Maldives have powdery white sand and clear turquoise lagoons and this fact brings many visitors to these beaches. Maldives is a one island one resort destination. One island is one resort.

Maldives consists of 1,192 coral islands grouped in a double chain of 26 atolls, along the north-south direction, spread over roughly 90,000 square kilometers, making this one of the worlds most dispersed countries.

Maldives is the lowest country in the world, with maximum and average natural ground levels of only 2.4 meters and 1.5 meters above sea level, respectively.

The enchanting beauty of these Maldivian beaches will always be a memorable experience. Tan, frolic and run under the sunny blue skies during the day and take a relaxing walk or have your party under the full moon sky. The white sandy beaches of the Maldives are breathtaking under the full moon sky. It is romantic, ethereal, silvery and full of enchantment. The different layers of the beaches of Fuvahmulah are awe-inspiring and just another story. Fuvahmulah lies right across the equator and is the only one island one atoll existing in the Maldives.

There may be wider and longer beaches all over the world but you cannot beat the Maldives for its fineness of the sand, the clear color of white, the privacy and access from your accommodation on any resort island. The Maldives beaches are the perfect choice for your tropical holiday.

These over-water retreats have been designed by the award-winning design company P49 DEESIGN, that has injected new life into the Signature Water Villas. Blending contemporary design with the surrounding natural beauty of the island, these villas allow ocean lovers to take a few steps from their own balcony, into the welcoming crystal clear waters below.

The romantic hideaways will feature couples rain showers, beautifully designed loveseats, and overhanging ‘love nests’ which float on the lagoon, in addition to the resorts existing ‘sleep tight’ beds which have made their way into the Nectar mattress review recently, worth a look if you have back pain and are wondering how comfortable you will be.

Following the revamp of the new water villas in LUX* South Ari Atoll, the newest and latest resort by the brand, LUX* North Male’ Atoll will be opening within the second half of 2016. This new, ultra-luxury resort is located less than an hour away from Male’ airport by speedboat, and will include a spectacular range of private villas.
