Bekah Martinez's Boyfriend, Grayston Leonard, Confuses Fans With Instagram Posts About “Marriage”

This post was originally published on this site

Fans are congratulating Bekah Martinez, breakout star of Arie Luyendyk Jr.‘s season of The Bachelor, after she revealed on Wednesday that she and boyfriend Grayston Leonard are expecting their first child. But the comments section on Leonard’s Instagram post are filling up with well-wishers for an entirely different reason: Thanks to a couple of cryptically worded posts, fans now think that the couple have already gotten married.

As People reported, the confusion began last week, when Leonard posted two pictures on his Instagram of Bekah and him at the beach. The first is captioned “Stuck with this beach,” and the second reads, “After 48 hours of marriage, I am foregoing a life with Rebekah for an annulment. she’s not happy about it.” As if that weren’t confusing enough, Bekah was photographed wearing a lacy white dress, and in the first photo, the pair are standing under a very wedding-y canopy decorated with palm fronds and white fabric.

All of this just seems to be an elaborate (if Pinterest-worthy) joke though, because on Wednesday, Leonard tried to clear things up with an Instagram Story: “No, we aren’t married,” he said in an Instagram Story, while lounging in bed with Martinez, according to People. It looks like some fans didn’t get the memo, because as of Friday, congratulations are still pouring in to his comments section.

That Leonard’s posts are a joke and not a casual wedding announcement syncs up pretty well with Martinez’s previous comments regarding marriage. In an interview with PureWow from Wednesday that accompanied her pregnancy announcement, Martinez said marriage is definitely off the table right now. “It’s a horrible idea for us to consider with all of the hormones and the stress we’re experiencing,” she told PureWow. “The last thing we need is to consider another commitment on top of what we’re already going through…Regardless, we’re bound together by sharing this little life.”
