  1. I stayed at the Hyatt Regency last year. If you can arffod it, I recommend it highly. It’s in a very romantic setting, surrounded by lush palm trees, waterfalls, and ponds with koi and beautiful black swans swimming in them. The Ruinas del Mar restaurant is a fabulous place to have dinner even if you decide to stay somewhere else. It has a fantastic view of all of that landscaping and of the sun setting over the sea.[edit]I don’t really agree that it’s a party island. If you want that sort of thing you can find it, just as you can anywhere, but that’s not the sort of atmosphere you’ll find at the classier resorts like the Hyatt Regency. What happened to Natalee Holloway was tragic, but the real tragedy was that there wasn’t sufficient adult supervision. It could have happened any place where teenagers were allowed to drink to excess. According to the suspect’s account she died of alcohol poisoning and his only crime was dumping her body because he didn’t want to be blamed. That was the one and only case of its kind that I know of on Aruba. In places like New York and Detroit it probably happens so often it’s not even newsworthy any more, so it’s not fair to shun Aruba for one isolated incident.
