Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas's Wedding: All the Details We Have So Far

GettyImages-1028908896.jpg

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas sure do know how to throw a party. From the couple’s engagement party in India to Chopra’s bridal shower at Tiffany’s to her bachelorette weekend in Amsterdam, the future Mr. and Mrs. have already had a wedding season to remember, and it’s not slowing down any time soon. The pair has reportedly already obtained a marriage license, so their big day—which we have high hopes for—could be happening any day now.

Read on for everything we know so far about Chopra and Jonas’s wedding (including what her dress might look like!). By the end, you’ll surely be just as excited as we are.

According to Us Weekly, sources have revealed that the big event will take place in India in December. The couple celebrated their engagement in Mumbai in August, where Jonas spent time with Chopra’s family. And after multiple trips to India together, the actress has referred to the country as her fiancé’s “other home.”

The couple reportedly filed for a marriage license at a Beverly Hills courthouse the first week of November, which means they could make things official at any point now. Sources say that they will bring the license with them to India in December for the ceremony, then file in the U.S. to legalize their union in both countries.

In addition to reportedly taking place in India, the ceremony will likely feature a blend of Chopra’s Indian culture and Jonas’s American one. “The wedding is coming soon and they really want to blend wedding traditions from both of their cultures that are important to them,” a source recently told Us Weekly. “Priyanka is having a really good time planning the wedding because it’s a mix of Indian and American styles and customs, which she knows so much about.” Jonas, for his part, has been “super supportive” of the fact that his bride-to-be wants and Indian wedding.

Chopra’s mom, Madhu Chopra, has also been outspoken about her hopes for a traditional ceremony. “I haven’t forced any of my thoughts on her, but I definitely want a traditional Indian wedding,” she said. “That’s my only wish. I started the roka with a puja, which is important for me. I’m a modern mother, but at heart, I’m quite conservative.”

Chopra has been giving fans a preview of her wedding day style of late (she wore an actual wedding dress to her bridal shower in October), but she has two requirements for whichever dress she decides on for the big day. “I always believed that anything and everything that I wear, I have to be comfortable and cute,” Chopra told Entertainment Tonight. “So it’s going to be cute and comfortable.”

To celebrate her last days of single-hood, Chopra jetted off to Amsterdam with some of her nearest and dearest girlfriends. Her bachelorette weekend involved a big night out with Chopra dressed in a feathered white frock and her friends in black and red. “Red, white and Bride!!!” she captioned a group shot from the evening, which resulted in a very hungover morning with future sister-in-law Sophie Turner, who’s engaged to Joe Jonas.

Chopra’s stunningly over-the-top bridal shower took place at Tiffany’s flagship store on Fifth Avenue—the same place where Jonas got her stunning ring. A-list guests included Kelly Ripa, Lupita Nyong’o, and Chopra donned a floor-length white gown from Marchesa. “It was amazing; my friends threw a really special party for me. And it’s amazing that it was at Tiffany, because I’m a fan of the brand, and it was really special in my relationship,” she said of the night. “But it wasn’t a normal shower. I haven’t even opened gifts yet, it was just dancing and cocktails and fun.”

A wedding may not be the only thing Jonas and Chopra are celebrating in the near future: The soon-to-be Mrs. Jonas recently joked that she needs to “catch up” to her pregnant friend, Meghan Markle. “I just have a few of my friends who are having babies right now and I’m like, ‘God, I need to catch up!’” she said. According to Us Weekly, Chopra and Jonas “keep talking about starting a family together,” but they’ve got one important thing to check off of their to-do list before it happens. “They are going to wait till after the wedding to start trying,” the insider added. “But it’s definitely on the agenda.”

Michelle Obama Opens Up About Previous Miscarriage

GettyImages-981723030.jpg

Michelle Obama is opening up about her previous struggles getting pregnant and for good reason: She wants others to know they are not alone.

In an interview with Good Morning America Friday morning, to promote her new memoir, Becoming, the former First Lady discussed having a miscarriage 20 years ago. “I felt lost and alone, and I felt like I failed,” she told host Robin Roberts of the experience. “Because I didn’t know how common miscarriages were, because we don’t talk about them. We sit in our own pain, thinking that somehow we’re broken.”

She continued, “That’s one of the reasons I feel like it’s important to talk to young mothers about the fact that miscarriages happen.”

Obama went on to reveal that after miscarrying, she and President Barack Obama made the decision to undergo in-vitro fertilization. “The biological clock is real, because egg production is limited, and I realized that as I was 34 and 35,” she said. “We had to do IVF.” The Obamas now have two daughters, 20-year-old Malia and 18-year-old Sasha, and speaking out about her “journey to motherhood” is something Michelle deems incredibly important.

Other women in the public eye—including Chrissy Teigen, Beyoncé, and Kim Kardashian—have all previously also used their platforms to discuss their own challenges with fertility: Teigen has been outspoken about the fact that her children were conceived via IVF; Beyoncé has repeatedly opened up about her own miscarriage; and Kardashian let fans in on her decision to carry her third child via surrogate.

Prince Charles Was Very Involved in Planning Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's Wedding

Wedding in the Maldives islands, Its celebration of happiness in the middle of ocean with World class Accomodation and Food on your Holiday package, Photo by Asad

There were many moments from Meghan Markle and Prince Harry‘s royal wedding that will go down in history (and forever be embedded in our brains, hearts and Pinterest boards): the moment Meghan stepped out of her car in her dress; her mom, Doria Ragland, crying as she came down the aisle; and their first kiss on the steps, to name a few. But there’s one sound in particular that seemed to define the day: the gospel rendition of “Stand By Me.”

The song was selected by Meghan and Harry to be played during the ceremony, but they had help from an unlikely source to figure out how to make it appropriate for the occasion. “We worked quite a lot with the Prince of Wales, who has incredible taste in specifically classical music, so it was really fun to spend some time going through selections with him,” Meghan says of her father-in-law, Prince Charles, in a personal recording for the new exhibition “A Royal Wedding: The Duke and Duchess of Sussex,” per People.

In fact, it was actually Prince Charles’s team who put Meghan and Harry in touch with the Kingdom Choir, the group who serenaded the couple on their big day. “There was a song that was very meaningful to us, ‘Stand By Me,’ but we wanted a gospel rendition of it for it to really have a lot of soul,” Markle says in the recording.

But one musical decision that Prince Harry made entirely for himself, without the help of his father? The song that Meghan came down the aisle to. “[It] was Harry’s choice entirely and I think a really beautiful piece,” said Meghan of George Frideric Handel’s “Eternal Source of Light Divine. “I can retrace that entire walk down the aisle listening to it. It really is so special to us, and I think it’s one of those things we’ll treasure forever.”

Music and wedding planning aren’t the only thing Meghan Markle and her new father-in-law—who partially walked her down the aisle—have bonded over. “They have bonded over art, history, and culture,” a source recently revealed. “Meghan is particularly keen to learn about earlier royals and the artists who have painted them. The prince believes she is ‘incredibly smart’ and, having been trained by the Hollywood machine, is uniquely equipped to cope with the endlessly scrutinized life of a royal.”

Prince Harry Explains the Habit of His That Confuses Meghan Markle

no thumb

Part of being married means learning to love (or at least, learning to live with) your partner’s odd habits—even if you’re Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.

In the new BBC Documentary, Prince, Son and Heir: Charles at 70, Prince Harry revealed that Meghan is learning to deal with his “habit” of turning off the lights, which he reportedly picked up from his father, Prince Charles.

“He’s a stickler for turning off the lights,” Harry says in the documentary, per The Mirror. “And that’s now something I’m obsessed with as well, which is insane because actually my wife goes, ‘Well why turn off the lights? You know it’s dark.’”

But for Harry, this small habit is about doing his part for the planet. “I go, ‘We only need one light, we don’t need, like, six,’ and all of a sudden it becomes a habit and those small habit changes he’s making, every single person can do. And I think that’s one of the key lessons certainly that I felt that [Charles] taught us.”

And Meghan isn’t the only one learning to live with her husband’s affinity for hanging out in the dark: Apparently, the exact same thing is going on in Prince William and Kate Middleton’s corner of the palace. “I know I’ve got serious OCD on light switches now, which is terrible,” William responded to his brother, per The Mirror.

Prince Charles has historically been a champion for the environment and has clearly instilled those values in both of his sons. In the interview, Harry also admitted that when he was younger, he used to get teased at school for walking around and picking up trash. “It’s like I’ve literally done this because I’ve been programmed to do it, because my father did it,” he said. “Actually, we should all be doing it.”

Of course, considering Prince Harry is the type of husband who’s willing to dish out impromptu public back rubs and toast with water instead of wine in solidarity with his pregnant wife, we’d say that switching off a light or two—especially for the sake of the environment—sounds like a pretty OK habit for the Duchess of Sussex to have to deal with.

A Viral Engagement Ring Shaming Post Is Stirring Up Controversy on Reddit

Stocksy_txp87cd0a13zI6200_Small_1612800.jpg

What would you do if you found the engagement ring your significant other was planning to propose with and absolutely hated it? Well, according to the Internet, the one thing you should absolutely *not* do is share a photo of it to Facebook complaining about it.

One woman did just that earlier this week and another online community was not here for it. “Ewwwww,” the woman wrote in a “ring shaming” Facebook group ( yes, those exist) alongside a photo of the ring. “Self shame Friday here I come. Found this in the BF’s nightstand. Not a fan. Please roast and then tell me how to tactfully say no you need to go get something different.”

According to Today, one user of the group apparently then shared a screenshot of the original post to Reddit, where commenters went in on the anonymous woman who initially posted about it. “This is the saddest thing I’ve seen on this sub. It’s one thing when it’s a total stranger, but when someone that’s supposed to love you unconditionally acts like a grifter it’s just plain sad,” one user commented. “I hope he sees this, and then RUNS. To post this degrading sh*t to social media to first insult it, and then ask for ways to get something better from someone she supposedly loves just defies what this ring should really be about and proves she doesn’t even deserve a ring out of a dollar vending machine. This poor, poor man.”

… And those are two of the nicer pieces of feedback.

Others on Reddit took issue with the fact that she was in a “ring shaming” group to begin with. “Oh god. It was bad enough when I thought it was just one person asking their friends and family. But a ring shaming group? Disgusting…” wrote one user. “Wait….So that means she had to have belonged to this ‘ring shaming’ group before she had any idea her boyfriend had a ring, and was just waiting to post about her ring?” wondered another. But considering these types of groups exist in the first place—the group “That’s It, I’m Ring Shaming” has over 19,000 users—this woman clearly isn’t the only one who’s taken to social media to air her grievances. Of course, the anonymous post-er is entitled to her opinions about her engagement ring, but as one Reddit user so aptly put it, “Marriage isn’t about the ring.”

Meghan Markle's Family Drama and Love of Art Reportedly Helped Her Bond With Prince Charles

GettyImages-961424826.jpg

What does it take to bond with a set of royal in-laws? In Meghan Markle‘s case, it was a shared love of art and history and a whole lot of family drama.

Meghan’s tumultuous relationship with her father and half siblings has repeatedly made headlines before and since May 19 wedding to Prince Harry (case in point: her father was caught staging and selling paparazzi photos of himself, and her sister wrote a book called The Diary of Princess Pushy’s Sister, among many, many other things), but there’s at least one silver lining to all of it: The situation with her own family has helped the Duchess of Sussex become closer with her in-laws.

“Anyone who thinks the soap-opera antics of Meghan’s father, half-sister and half-brother have affected Charles’s feelings for his new daughter-in-law couldn’t be more wrong,” wrote Angela Levin, a reporter for The Daily Mail who spent a year following Prince Charles. “On the contrary, I was told by an immaculate source close to the Prince. ‘There have been so many traumas and crises within the personal life of the Royal Family, from the Duke of Windsor onwards. And many Royal divorces. That’s why the Duchess of Sussex’s troubled family background has endeared her to Charles even more.”

Meghan and Charles’ close relationship became evident on the day of the royal wedding, when he was the one chosen to walk her down part of the aisle and give her away to Prince Harry. Furthermore, Charles reportedly gifted Markle with a diamond tennis bracelet in honor of her nuptials, which Meghan has been seen sporting several times, including during her royal tour in Australia and Fiji.

But it isn’t just her family drama that has helped to bond the future king with his new daughter-in-law. “They have bonded over art, history and culture. Meghan is particularly keen to learn about earlier Royals and the artists who have painted them. The Prince believes she is ‘incredibly smart’ and, having been trained by the Hollywood machine, is uniquely equipped to cope with the endlessly scrutinized life of a Royal,” Levin reports.

In addition to Prince Charles, Camilla Parker Bowles also seems to have taken kindly to Meghan — in part because both women joined the royal family from “the outside.” “Camilla goes out of her way to find time to spend with Meghan, to get to know her and make her feel welcome. She’s the ideal mother-in-law,” writes Levin.

With Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s first child on the way, it’s safe to say there are some seriously doting grandparents in his or her future.

Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin Got Matching Tattoos

no thumb

It’s a tale as old as celebrity relationships themselves: First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes matching tattoos. And it seems Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin have officially hit the third chapter in their story, reportedly inking themselves in each other’s honor.

Celebrity tattoo artist Bang Bang (Keith McCurdy), revealed that he recently tattooed the newlyweds to celebrate their courthouse nuptials. “They each got a tattoo,” he told Page Six TV, per Us Weekly. “Justin’s tattoo is on his face, and I haven’t seen any photos of it — so he’s doing a good job of laying low.”

Bang Bang didn’t provide many details, but he noted that Bieber’s ink is next to his eyebrow and features “little words.” Based on a photo taken of the singer in July that shows a design above his eye, there is some speculation that it could say “Grace,” Us Weekly notes.

“It’s really thin and delicate,” Bang Bang said. “And [it’s] also not a traditional couples’ tattoo.”

Bieber and Baldwin tied the knot in a courthouse ceremony in September, and the couple has spent some time laying low since making things official. “[Bieber] is enjoying time with the woman he loves, and doesn’t want anything to get in the way of that,” a source recently said of the A-listers’ new low-key lifestyle. (The two are also still reportedly planning a larger wedding celebration sometime in 2019.)

This isn’t the first time that Bieber has gotten inked in honor of the woman he loves. He got a tattoo of Selena Gomez’s face on his left arm when the pair were together, and though he has tried to cover it since it’s still largely visible. “Uh, this is my ex-girlfriend,” he told GQ in 2016 of the ink, which shows Gomez flanked in angel wings. “So I kinda try to cover her face up with some shading, but people still know.”

The Bachelorette's Kaitlyn Bristowe and Shawn Booth Have Broken Up After Three Years Together

no thumb

It’s a sad day in Bachelor nation: After three years together, Kaitlyn Bristowe and Shawn Booth have called it quits.

People broke the news on Friday afternoon, sharing a joint statement from the couple: “After three incredible years, we have decided to go our separate ways. This difficult decision comes after thoughtful, respectful consideration. Even though we are parting as a couple, we’re very much committed to remaining friends. We have both evolved as people, which is taking us in different directions, but with the hope that we will continue to support each other in new ways,” the pair said. “Due to the nature of how we met, our relationship has always been very public, and we have enjoyed sharing it with all of you, but we ask that you respect our decision and our privacy at this time.”

Bristowe and Booth met on the set of The Bachelorettes 11th season, and Booth popped the question during the show’s final episode. They have since been living in Nashville, where they were pursuing their careers.

The pair sparked rumors of a split earlier this year when Bristowe was spotted without her engagement ring, but at the time she reassured fans that there was no trouble in paradise. Speaking on her podcast, “Off the Vine” in August, she noted that she and Booth were “both so busy, and unfortunately that means we’re spending all of this time apart.” Even so, she said they were still “110 percent committed to each other.”

She continued, “You are both always away, you’re exhausted at the end of the day, sometimes the relationship isn’t being put first, but does that mean you call it quits? No,” she said, per People. “You love the sh*t out of each other and you work through it—and yourselves to be better. And you know that times aren’t always going to be smooth sailing.”

Julia Roberts Calls Husband Danny Moder Her 'Favorite Human'

no thumb

After 16 successful years of marriage, it’s safe to assume that Julia Roberts has some solid tips about how to make a relationship work. And thankfully, she’s finally sharing them with the rest of us.

The actress appeared on the most recent episode of the GOOP podcast (out November 2), opening up to pal (and newlywed) Gwyneth Paltrow about the reality of being married to husband Danny Moder for well over a decade. “It just gets deeper, it just gets more complex,” she said. “You’re young and you fall in love and go, ‘Yes, we’re going to get married, and we’re going to build a house and will have kids,’ and all these things that we all kind of dream of, but you don’t know if you’re going to like the same couch, and you don’t know if he is going to want to get patterned towels. Then, of course, the bigger ones are, ‘Will you parent in a way that has balance to it, that holds hands in philosophy?’ You just don’t know these things until you are right there doing it, and we are so fortunate that there is some kind of some explicable harmony to the way we do things.”

Roberts married Moder in 2002 and considers their relationship to be a major turning point in her life. “I think that first kind of real… ‘seismic shift’ was meeting Danny. Getting married to Danny,” she said on the podcast. “That was the first time my life will never be the same in the most incredible, indescribable way.” The couple share three children together.

And even after 16 years together, Roberts seems to be just as obsessed with Moder as she was back when the “seismic shift” occurred. “He truly, to this day, to this minute is just my favorite human,” she said. “I’m more interested in what he has to say or his point of view just than anybody. Really, we’re so lucky in that way. We just really, really like each other and we just enjoy each other’s company.”

Priyanka Chopra Speaks Out on Decision to Wear Controversial Designer Marchesa to Bridal Shower

no thumb

Priyanka Chopra has spoken out in defense of her decision to wear a Marchesa dress to her bridal shower.

The actress received criticism after donning a white feather dress from the brand, whose designer, Georgina Chapman, was married to disgraced producer Harvey Weinstein. Chopra spoke to Women’s Wear Daily about the importance of “women supporting women” and vehemently stood by her choice.

“Georgina’s a friend of mine, and she has been,” Chopra told the publication. “And it’s not her fault. And I don’t think it’s right to take it out on a self-made woman what somebody in her life did….That’s the wrong attitude.”

She continued, “I’ve known her for years, and that was a beautiful gown, and deserved to be worn by a bride-to-be. And it made me feel like a princess. It was the right choice.”

Marchesa is well-known for its wedding-wear, and the brand’s formalwear has been a red carpet fixture amongst A-listers since its inception in 2004.

Chapman announced she was leaving Weinstein in October 2017 after he was accused of sexual assault and misconduct by multiple women. Chapman told People at the time, “My heart breaks for all the women who have suffered.”

Chopra, who has worn Chapman’s designs in the past, isn’t the only celebrity to speak out on her behalf in the wake of the scandal. Scarlett Johansson opted for a red Marchesa gown at the 2018 Met Gala, and echoed the Quantico star’s sentiments when discussing the reasoning behind her decision. “I wore Marchesa because their clothes make women feel confident and beautiful and it is my pleasure to support a brand created by two incredibly talented and important female designers,” she said, per People.

In addition to a dress that made her feel like a princess, Chopra’s bridal shower certainly sounds like a night to remember. “It was amazing; my friends threw a really special party for me. And it’s amazing that it was at Tiffany, because I’m a fan of the brand, and it was really special in my relationship,” she told WWD, who notes that Jonas proposed to his future bride at the brand’s Fifth Avenue flagship store. “But it wasn’t a normal shower. I haven’t even opened gifts yet, it was just dancing and cocktails and fun.”

Japan's Princess Ayako of Takamado Weds Commoner After Giving Up Royal Title

no thumb

Japan’s Princess Ayako of Takamado is officially no longer a princess after giving up her title to marry a commoner.

Ayako wed 32-year-old shipping company employee Kei Moriya on Monday in a ceremony at Tokyo‘s Meiji Shrine in front of 30 guests, The Japan Times reports. Under the Imperial House Law, her decision to marry a commoner meant that she would be required to relinquish her royal title.

For the ceremony, Ayako opted for traditional court attire, which included a red kimono robe an a pair of hakama pants. According to The Japan Times, she wore her hair in the osuberakashi ancient style for noblewomen. Moriya wore a morning suit, which he accessorized with a top hat that belonged to Ayako’s late father, Prince Takamodo.

“I’m very happy that many people were able to celebrate [our marriage],” Ayako told reporters following the ceremony, per The Japan Times. “We want to make efforts to become a couple like my mother and father.” Moriya seemed to share in these sentiments, telling the press that he hoped to “build a family full of smiles.”

Ayako also noted that her father, who died in 2002, “would have rejoiced at my marriage.”

The couple began dating in 2017, and reportedly hit it off from the start. “I met Mr. Moriya for the first time in December last year, and I remember that our conversation got so lively that it didn’t feel like we had just met and that I had so much fun that I forgot about time,” she told The Japan Times.

The proposal, which happened shortly after they began dating, came as a total shock to Ayako. “He proposed to me this year having a dinner at a restaurant. It was very sudden, so I asked to hold for my answer,” she said in July. “As we have deepened the relationship including our family, friends and related people, I came to the decision and accepted this proposal.”

This actually isn’t the first time a female member of the Japanese Imperial family has decided to give up her title in the name of love. In 2005, former Princess Sayako renounced her title to marry town planner Yoshiki Kuroda, and last year Princess Mako mead headlines with her plan to do the same by marrying law clerk Kei Komuro. For now, however, Mako and Komuro have decided to postpone their wedding until 2020, so her royal status remains intact.

Despite giving up her title, Ayako will retain honorary positions at two organizations, which marks a first-of-its-kind break in convention.

Joe Jonas Dressed as Fiancée Sophie Turner's Game of Thrones Character, Sansa Stark, for Halloween

GettyImages-1054581146.jpg

Joe Jonas has officially taken the concept of a “couples Halloween costume” to a whole new level: Instead of going matchy-matchy with his fiancée, Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner, he used the holiday as an excuse to dress up as her character from the show.

Jonas’ iconic take on Sansa Stark involved a long red wig and turquoise velvet dress with gold embroidery. He posted a hilarious video to Instagram of himself making a grand entrance in his costume, surrounded by GIF’s of the show’s other characters while the GoT theme song played in the background.

While Turner didn’t return the fun-poking favor by dressing as Jonas (though we would have loved to see her decked out as a member of the Jonas Brothers or DNCE), she crushed Halloween equally as hard as her fiancé as a cuddly-looking elephant. According to People, the pair attended Kate Hudson’s Amazon-hosted costume party on Saturday night alongside other A-listers like Jessica Alba, Gwyneth Paltrow and Sara Foster. At the end of the evening, Turner posted a shot of she and a sleepy-looking Jonas snuggled up in their outfits.

Not only is Jonas engaged to one of Game of Thrones’ leading ladies, but he also happens to be a huge fan of the show. “I can’t wait for it to come back and I don’t want to know any spoilers,” Jonas told Variety earlier this month of GoT‘s final season. “Sophie won’t tell me and she knows if she told me I would be so heartbroken because I’m such a big fan of the show. Meghan Markle Wore a $56 ASOS Dress in New Zealand With Prince Harry

no thumb

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry touched down in New Zealand on Sunday for the last stop of their Oceania tour, and the Duchess marked the occasion in yet another affordable maternity look.

While on a “walkabout” meeting fans in Wellington, the pregnant Duchess looked chic as ever in a $56 dress from ASOS (first recognized by Twitter fashion detective @UFOnomore). She paired the short-sleeve black dress — which, as of press time, was still available in limited quantities — with a $750 plaid trench from designer Karen Walker, proving she is truly a master of the high/low style mix. While Meghan’s exact coat has sold out, you can get your hands on a dark navy version that’s equally as chic. The Duchess finished the look with a poppy pin in honor of soldiers who have died in war, which she has been spotted wearing throughout the week. Per usual, she kept her glam natural, sporting her signature low bun and minimal makeup.

Since announcing her pregnancy on October 15, Meghan Markle has become an affordable maternity-wear style icon. Throughout she and Prince Harry’s Oceania tour, she’s worn a number of pieces that retail for under $250, including a polka dot dress from High street brand & Other Stories, and a black-and-white maxi-dress from Reformation. In the past, she’s also worn pieces off-the-rack from brands like Club Monaco and J. Crew.

After her incredibly stylish walkabout, the Duchess gave an inspiring speech (her third of the royal tour) in honor of the125th anniversary of women’s suffrage in New Zealand. “The achievements of the women in New Zealand who campaigned for their right to vote, and were the first in the world to achieve it, are universally admired,” she said, per The Independent. “Women’s suffrage is about feminism, but feminism is about fairness.”

The royal couple will spend the next few days traveling through New Zealand before wrapping up their first International tour on October 31.

Meghan Markle's First Official Twitter Post Is a Sweet Photo of Prince Harry

GettyImages-1054131460.jpg

Meghan Markle, multitalented actress, activist and Duchess, is apparently also an apt royal photographer.

On Saturday, Kensington Palace posted a black and white photo to its official Twitter account of Prince Harry rehearsing for the Invictus Games’ closing ceremony. In the accompanying caption, the Palace wrote “📷 The Duchess of Sussex,” indicating that Meghan was likely the one playing proud wife behind the lens.

Meghan used to be an avid Instagram and Twitter user, but de-activated her social media accounts in 2017 when she and Prince Harry became engaged. This recent shot is the first time that we’ve seen her flex her photography muscles since becoming a royal, and her skills are nothing short of impressive.

The Invictus Games’ closing ceremony is a significant milestone for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, as last year’s event was the first time they were spotted showing off their iconic PDA. And this year, they delivered an equally awww-worthy moment.

The Duke delivered his heartfelt speech on Saturday night, commending the Invictus Games’ athletes for all of their hard and inspiring work throughout the week. “Your example goes beyond the military community. It is about more than just your inspiring stories of recovery from injury and illness,” he said to the crowd. “It is about your example of determination, of optimism, of strength, honour and friendship, or as the Aussies call it ‘mateship’, as a core value that has the power to inspire the world.”

He went on to discuss the importance of de-stigmatizing mental health, a cause that’s always been close to his heart. “By simply being here and fighting back from some of the darkest experiences known to anyone, you have become role models for everyone at home or in the stands who might be struggling with their emotions or with a mental illness,” he said.

Meghan Markle gave a speech of her own at the ceremony, telling the crowd, “The support system on the ground here at [The Invictus Games] is something unlike any other. Because it’s not just cheering on your own, but realising that by the end of this week, ‘your own’ becomes everyone in the Invictus family.”

Justin Bieber Is Reportedly “Scaling Back” on Work Because of That Newlywed Life

GettyImages-1035606736.jpg

Justin Bieber is reportedly making the most of the so-called honeymoon phase by scaling back on work to spend time with new wife Hailey Baldwin.

“He’s been on the go for a long time, and he’s enjoying a laid-back season of life,” a source told People of the singer’s decision to chill out for a bit. “He is enjoying time with the woman he loves, and doesn’t want anything to get in the way of that. He’ll get back to work soon, but the truth is that he doesn’t have to. He’s got enough money.”

For her part, Baldwin is said to be totally supportive of her new husband dialing it back on work commitments. “Hailey understands how hard Justin worked for so long, and is fine with him taking a break. If she has things she wants to do, Justin is fine with that,” the source continued. “There has been a little bit of conflict, but nothing out of the ordinary. They’re still very much in love, and their families love each other. That’s all that matters.”

Bieber and Baldwin wed in September in a secret courthouse ceremony in New York City, and have since been heard referring to each other as “husband” and “wife” on multiple occasions.

Earlier this month, the singer was noticeably upset after receiving the news that Selena Gomez, who he dated on and off until March, was hospitalized. “Justin seems okay,” another source told People. “However, he doesn’t seem ready to record new music yet and keeps saying that he just wants to hang out with Hailey,”

Prince Harry Praises Meghan Markle After She Delivers Empowering Feminist Speech

GettyImages-1052856854.jpg

Another day, another instance of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle being adorable during their grand royal tour of Australia, Fiji, New Zealand, and Tonga. On Wednesday, Meghan gave her first official royal speech of the trip, and, true to character, used the opportunity to talk about women’s rights. After his wife addressed students at the University of South Pacific about the importance of education for women and girls, Prince Harry proved that he, too, was blown away by her intelligence and poise, heaping praise for Meghan as he skirted around a potentially awkward moment.

According to royal correspondent Omid Scobie, the event’s MC was, apparently, so moved by Meghan’s speech that he forgot to introduce Prince Harry, who was set to address the crowd after the duchess was finished with her own remarks. Harry, fully understanding this gaffe, reportedly cracked a few sweet jokes as he approached the podium. “I thought I got away with it,” he said. “No way that I could follow my wife after that.”

Despite his jokes, Harry used his time at the podium to make an impact, too. “The Commonwealth is all about cooperation and collaboration. Your generation, and our children, will benefit from what you are doing today,” he said, per Scobie.

Meghan also reportedly met with students at the university who have an “interest in youth empowerment,” and reportedly spoke to them about “the importance of young people getting involved in political discussions and empowering students to become job creators not job seekers.” To finish their visit, the royal couple received flower garlands from university students.

This is hardly the first time Prince Harry has played the role of supporting husband during a Meghan Markle moment. At the launch of her cookbook, Together: Our Community Cookbook, in September, Meghan delivered her first speech as a royal, and Harry was once again there, beaming with pride. Luckily, that time the duke didn’t have to take the stage after his incredible wife.

Queer Eye Star Karamo Brown Says He Has Been Planning His Wedding Since He Was 9 Years Old

GettyImages-915615292.jpg

It’s no wonder Queer Eye star Karamo Brown already has the date and location of his wedding day selected: He started planning his dream event when he was a kid.

“I started planning my wedding when I was nine years old,” the Netflix show’s culture expert told Us Weekly at a charity event on Tuesday night. “I’m the guy that literally had a booklet that I would secretly stash in my locker as I was coming off from football practice that [was] like, ‘This is what my wedding’s going to be like.’ I’ve already been in pre-pre-planning mode.”

Brown proposed to his fiancé, Ian Jordan, in May of this year after eight years together. He popped the question at HYDE nightclub in Los Angeles, and added another level of happy surprise by flying Jordan’s family to L.A. celebrate the milestone with them.

“I hope we can conquer the world together for the rest of our lives. Ian Lamont Jordan, will you marry me?” Brown reportedly asked while popping the question, tears streaming down the face.

“Tonight, with the help of my sons, I asked the love of my life to marry me and he said YESSSS!” he later said of the proposal on Instagram. “He is my today, tomorrow and everything!”

The rest of the Fab Five—Bobby Berk, Tan France, Antoni Porowski, and Jonathan Van Ness—were all in attendance at the proposal, which means fans can likely expect a mini Queer Eye reunion on their bestie Karamo Brown’s big day.

Clearly, Brown is a planning pro when it comes to proposals. In a season two episode of Queer Eye, Brown and the crew assisted a man in popping the question to his love. And recently, the group teamed up with Brides to help another groom-to-be nail his proposal to his girlfriend. Check out the video below!
