Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake's 2012 Wedding Was a Total Dream

no thumb

This will always be one of our favorite celebrity weddings! To us, it seems like only yesterday that Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake said “I do” in the Italian countryside surrounded by family and friends—and with Jessica in a seriously trendsetting wedding dress. But today marks six years since their 2012 nuptials. And, if their red carpet PDA is any indication, the couple—now parents to three-year-old Silas—is still very much in the honeymoon phase. In honor of Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake’s wedding anniversary today, we’re reminiscing on their 2012 ceremony.

Around 100 guests were invited to spend the week with Biel and Timberlake in Puglia, Italy to celebrate their wedding on October 19, 2012, with the star-heavy crowd gathering at the Borgo Egnazia resort in Puglia for the private over-the-top event. The white-stoned, castle-like Borgo Egnazia offered the couple and their celebrity guests the utmost privacy. The 63-room, 28-villa luxury hotel feels like a mini-village and was tight on security, so guests didn’t have to be nervous about the paparazzi.

Now, let’s talk about that dress! On the big day, Jessica wowed everyone by foregoing with tradition and opting out of wearing white on her wedding day (we love a non-conformist bride!). The future Mrs. Timberlake walked down the aisle in a jaw-dropping, floating-on-air custom, petal pink Giambattista Valli Haute Couture gown. The veil, also created by Giambattista Valli, was encrusted with Biel’s heirloom pearls, and Valli outfitted the entire wedding party (including the bride and groom’s moms) in his gorgeous creations.

Meanwhile, the groom wore a custom Tom Ford tux, that he helped design. Timberlake’s groomsmen, the bride and groom’s fathers, and the page boy, also wore Tom Ford.

As Biel walked down the aisle in her stunning pink dress she was serenaded by none other than—you guessed it—her ex-boy-bander husband! “It was an original piece I wrote specifically for the evening and for her,” Timberlake told People at the time.

The star-studded guest list at the week-long celebration included Jimmy Fallon, Andy Samberg, Timbaland, and Beverley Mitchell just to name a few. “It was a really special evening,” Justin shared with People.

Marriage has suited the couple well, as they often gush over each other on Instagram, are the life of the party at other weddings they attend, and aren’t shy about declaring their love. “I’m so proud of all you’ve accomplished and all that is ahead for you,” Biel wrote to her husband on Instagram earlier this year. “Plus you’re a super hot dad. A ninja dad. A kiddie teeth brushing, Jedi sleep mind tricking, intimidating dad voice disciplining SUPER HOT DAD. I love you, you hot dad.. I’m here, right by your side, OG fan girl #1.”

The couple welcomed their first child, Silas, in 2015 and since then, their family halloween costumes have been on point. How adorable were their Toy Story themed get-ups from last year? But of course, they still always make time for date nights.

Kate Middleton Is in Alexander McQueen at Princess Eugenie's Wedding

GettyImages-1051949144.jpg

Looks like it’s “wear your wedding dress designer” day for both Duchesses at Princess Eugenie’s wedding. Kate Middleton and Prince William had the crowds going wild as they arrived to his cousin’s wedding this morning. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge arrived with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, and Kate Middleton’s fuschia pink Alexander McQueen has our jaws dropping.

Like Meghan Markle, who chose a look by her wedding dress designer Givenchy for the occasion, Kate Middleton is in a bright pink Alexander McQueen set for Princess Eugenie’s wedding. The Duchess of Cambridge stole the spotlight in the gorgeous hue, and we’re loving her return from maternity leave style. Not to mention the slight PDA we saw from the Cambridges! As they sat at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle waiting for the wedding, William and Kate held hands—a total departure for this royal couple. Maybe Meghan and Harry’s PDA started a trend?

Kate Middleton is famously head-over-heels for Alexander McQueen. Her iconic royal wedding dress was designed by McQueen’s Sarah Burton, and she’s chosen to wear looks from the brand for many of the royal family’s most important affairs—including Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal wedding. The Duchess has famously recycled some of her Alexander McQueen looks to family and friend’s weddings.

This is a departure for Kate, who has been known to recycle her wedding looks to keep eyes off of her and on the bride. At Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding, she wore a pale yellow (not white!) coat dress by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen that she’s previously worn on two occasions: Princess Charlotte’s christening and the queen’s birthday. While that may sound like a lot, there’s another dress—a cream coat by Day Birger et Mikkelsen, according to Harper’s Bazaar Australia—that she’s worn to three weddings, starting before she became a royal.

Meghan Markle Wears Givenchy To Princess Eugenie's Wedding

GettyImages-1051949146.jpg

If you thought Meghan Markle’s wedding dress was good, wait until you see her wedding guest dress—by the same designer! The Duchess of Sussex just arrived at Princess Eugenie’s wedding in a demure navy blue Givenchy dress, topped with a navy coat and fascinator.

Meghan Markle went for classy and understated Givenchy look, of course, for Princess Eugenie’s wedding–no need to upstage the bride, right?. The Duchess of Sussex, aka the most poured over royal bride in recent history, proved once again to be a super stylish wedding guest at Princess Eugenie’s wedding this morning. Markle and Prince Harry caused quite a stir as they arrived at his cousin’s wedding to Jack Brooksbank—the crowd went wild as they ushered in to St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are back at the exact same venue where they said their “I dos” earlier this year, and they are just as stylish as that beautiful day in May. While Prince Harry chose traditional tails—as is custom for day weddings in Britain—his wife kept it understated in a navy blue frock from Givenchy, the same designer who created her stunning wedding dress.

WPA Pool

Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s dress code called for women to wear a day dress and hat, and Markle has officially mastered this wardrobe requirement. Markle’s had plenty of practice in royal weddings after all. Just a month after her own nuptials, for example, while attending the wedding of Princess Diana’s niece, the 37-year-old royal donned a long-sleeve, blue-and-white Oscar de la Renta shirtdress with a matching white headpiece. The Duchess of Sussex also outfitted herself in a navy Club Monaco midi dress with a pleated, multicolored skirt during Charlie van Straubenzee’s wedding on August 4 (a.k.a. her birthday!).

While her wedding guest looks are also making a statement, Markle’s Givenchy wedding dress, designed by Claire Waight Keller, has clearly had an effect on the bridal industry—as we saw several dresses on the most recent runways echoing the Duchess’s style. Will Princess Eugenie’s wedding dress cause the same frenzy? We’re still waiting to see what the Princess has chosen to wear down the aisle. But we’re expecting lots of lace, and a traditional look given the venue. Stay tuned to see what Princess Eugenie’s wedding dress revealed.

Tim McGraw and Faith Hill's Wedding: Marking 22 Years of Marriage for the Country Stars

GettyImages-814734066.jpg

It’s safe to say that Tim McGraw and Faith Hill are always giving us major #marriagegoals. Just take a look at the lyrics to their 2017 hit, “The Rest of Our Life”:

“Sitting with you in a dark room, warmed by a fireplace. You know there’s just something about you. You brighten my day. I got something to run past you, I just hope I say it right. So I take your hand and ask you, Have you made plans for the rest of your life?”

Today marks the 22nd anniversary of the couple’s marriage. So naturally, it’s time to go down memory lane and take a look back at Tim McGraw and Faith Hill’s sweet October 6, 1996 wedding. And of course ‘Happy anniversary!’ goes without saying to this adorable couple.

Getty Images

The Proposal

The couple fell for each other on tour in early 1996, and by October they were married. On their 19th wedding anniversary, McGraw told his audience in Colorado the adorable story of how he got Hill to marry him. “We were in the dressing room, here, June 26, 1996, and it was raining and stuff and we’d been on tour for a while together, and I joked around with her about getting married. And so I said… I looked at her, grabbed her by the hand, and dropped forward [on my knees] onstage. She had already done her show. And I said, ‘I’m really serious. I want you to marry me.'” The songstress laughed in response. “She said, ‘We’re at a country music festival in a trailer house, and you’re asking me to marry you? And I said, ‘Yeah.’ So I went onstage.”

During his performance, McGraw’s future wife gave him an answer to his question. “I had in my dressing room… this foldout case that had a mirror in it that was my dressing armoire,” McGraw said. “I still have it to this day. When I came back offstage, [I saw] a Sharpie with lipstick kisses all over it, saying, ‘Yes! I’m gonna be your wife.’ It had, ‘I love you’ with big lipstick kisses. And this is the place right here.”

The Wedding

Hill and McGraw might have been one of the first celebrity couples to pull off a surprise wedding. The duo invited friends for what guests thought would be a softball game and concert in the groom’s hometown of Rayville, Louisana, and surprised everyone as they stood under an oak tree with a minister, ready to say “I do.”

Wearing a simple slinky white wedding dress, the bride—who was three months pregnant at the time—went barefoot and sported some seriously ’90s gloves and a simple string of pearls. The groom wore jeans topped with a black coat.

We’ll continue to awww at Hill and McGraw’s sweet relationship, not to mention their adorable Instagram moments. From stage reunions to family vacations, these two sure know how to make marriage look easy. And there’s no shortage of Instagram-worthy moments between these two, from smooching selfies to snowball fights.

What Trends to Expect at Bridal Fashion Week

Greenberg_BFW_Naeem_041218-291.jpg

Bridal Fashion Week kicks off today! And if you’re hanging on to every single wedding dress moment like we are—and following along as we take you behind the scenes at all of the designer shows!—you’ll want to know exactly what to expect. Twice a year bridal designers showcase their latest collections and brides-to-be get a look at all the upcoming trends in wedding dresses. While we don’t know exactly what’s coming—though we did get an exclusive preview of what those dresses will look like—we tapped Houghton designer Katherine Polk to give us her take on the fall 2019 wedding dress collections. Here, the fashion and bridal designer breaks down what trends we’ll see all over the bridal runways.

Romantic and feminine gowns

“While this sounds pretty straightforward for bridal season, I think designers are really making a conscious effort to design light, airy, and feminine gowns that are both beautiful and whimsical, mainly made of chiffon. Designers are stepping away from heavily beaded and corseted/structured looks. This season will call for romantic silhouettes, making any bride look like she’s straight out of a romance novel.”

Shades and pops of color

“I foresee designers playing with prints and palettes of pale, pastel colors. Whether it be a sliver of fun print under a tulle or lace overlay or full skirts in diffused chiffon prints, this trend is sure to stay. It is subtle, yet fun!”

Bridal Jackets and Capes

“Jackets and capes are going to be a major trend and on every designer’s runway this year! We’ll see everything from motorcycle and denim jackets to chiffon capes.”

Diamond Hair Accessories

“I see diamond hair accessories making a big splash on the runway this year—think pins and hair clips embellished with delicate pave diamonds, holding back romantic curls, waves, or veils. Diamonds are the ultimate symbol of lifelong romance—they look amazing with any hairstyle and represent true love—everything a bride is looking for! With the overall theme focused on looking dreamy and effortless, diamonds will be a key component for this NY Bridal Fashion Week.”

Barack and Michelle Obama's Wedding Photos: A Look Back at Their Wedding Day

no thumb

Happy anniversary, Barack and Michelle Obama! As the former POTUS and FLOTUS celebrate their wedding anniversary, we’re of course taking the opportunity to reminisce about the Obamas’ endearing love story. These two are always giving us #MarriageGoals—whether it’s gushing over each other on Twitter or sharing sweet romantic moments in the White House (fist bumps, flirting, and dancing galore!). And while we love ogling the former first lady’s every fashion choice, now it’s time to look back on Barack and Michelle Obama’s gorgeous Chicago wedding day in October of 1992.

How They Met:

Barack and Michelle met in 1989, while the politician was a summer associate at a Chicago law firm. Michelle, then Michelle Robinson, was his advisor. At first, Michelle refused to accept the offer of a date from Barack, but fate took over. Their first-date itinerary? A picnic, long walk, tour of the Art Institute, Baskin-Robbins ice cream, and a movie—Spike Lee’s Do the Right Thing.

“We clicked right away…by the end of the date, it was over…I was sold,” Michelle has said about their first date.

The Proposal:

The couple dated for two years before Barack proposed at Gordon’s restaurant in Chicago, where they were celebrating finishing the bar exam. “And he got me into one of these discussions again, where, you know, he sort of just led me down there and got fired up and it’s like you’ve got blah blah blah blah, and then dessert comes out, the tray comes out, and there’s a ring!” Michelle told The New Yorker.

Getty Images

The Wedding:

On October 3, 1992, Michelle and Barack said “I do” at Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago. The bride’s brother walked her down the aisle, while the groom’s brother served as best man. After the vows, a reception was held at the South Shore Cultural Center. Of course, self-professed Stevie Wonder superfan Michelle chose the singer’s “You and I” for their first dance as husband and wife. After the wedding, the couple took off for a California-coast honeymoon. Luckily, the iconic couple have shared a few of their wedding photos to social media over the years. See a shot from Michelle here, and one from Barack here. Thanks, Obama!

The Dress:

Way before she wowed us with her spot-on fashion sense (Jason Wu, Narciso Rodriguez, Christian Siriano!), the former first lady was a picture-perfect ’90s bride. Wearing one of our favorite resurrected ’90s trends, Michelle was lovely in an off-the-shoulder long-sleeved gown, pouffy veil, and statement drop-pearl earrings. She has since posted a pic of the dress to Instagram (see it here!), so we can fawn over the frock for years to come.

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas Are Reportedly Engaged

GettyImages-969829992.jpg

LIt’s official, 2018’s is the summer love! First Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson, then Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin, and now it turns out Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas are the latest celebrity couple to become engaged—after two months of dating. And the proposal story is straight out of Sweet Home Alabama!

A source tells People magazine, that after two months of dating, Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas are engaged. The Quantico star reportedly said yes to the Jonas brother’s proposal in London on her 36th birthday. In a move straight out of one of our favorite on-screen proposals—Sweet Home Alabama—Jonas is said to have shut down a Tiffany store to get down on one knee.

Rumors of an engagement swirled earlier this month, and the couple is said to be totally smitten with each other. Chopra already has his family’s seal of approval—stepping out with brother Joe Jonas and his fiancée Sophie Turner for a double date in London. And Jonas even brought her as his plus one to his cousin’s wedding.

The former Miss World told Entertainment Tonight earlier this year that marriage is something she wants. “I love the idea of getting married,” Chopra told the entertainment magazine. “I totally want to get married at some point. I don’t think marriage makes you smaller or bigger or more feminist or not. Feminism basically is women saying, ‘Give us our own choices without judging us.’ That’s all it is. It’s not about berating someone. It’s not about proving a point. I totally would love to get married.”

Now the important question—will Meghan Markle make the bridal party? Chopra was by her BFF’s said when she said “I do” to Prince Harry in May, so naturally we expect to see the Duchess of Sussex doing bridesmaid duties when these two tie the knot. That’s one wedding guest we can’t wait to see!

Pusha T and Virginia Williams's Stunning Wedding Photo Album: Exclusive

pusha-t-opener.jpg

Congrats are in order for rapper Pusha T and Virginia Joy Williams! The couple was married this Saturday, July 21st, in Virginia Beach and Brides has the inside scoop on all of the wedding details, wedding photos, and their star-studded guest list including best man Pharrell Williams, Kim Kardashian, and Kanye West.

Rapper and music executive—he’s president of Kanye’s G.O.O.D. label—Terrence LeVarr Thornton (AKA Pusha T) married Virginia Williams in front of around 150 of their closest friends and family this Saturday—including Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, Grimes, and Pharrell Williams. The couple said their “I dos” in their hometown of Virginia Beach at the historic Cavalier Hotel.

Adam Barnes

The wedding date itself carried some serious meaning for the couple, who became engaged on the same date (July 21st) two years earlier, after dating for 11 years—”I saw her from across the room at Hell Hath No Fury album release party in her hometown of Norfolk, VA. The rest was history!” the groom told Brides. “For whatever reason I see the number 721 almost everyday in crazy places. On 7/21/16 Terrence had me believing he was in LA, but popped up at our home in Bethesda,” Virginia told us of their romantic engagement. “He told me to meet him on our rooftop terrace…when I did he was on one knee and asked me to marry him at 7:21 pm! I said yes!” Destiny! During his best man speech, Pharrell also addressed the importance of the wedding date for the couple.

Adam Barnes

Choosing a wedding destination turned out to be easy for the couple. After considering venues in New York and Washington, D.C., Pusha and Virginia decided to keep their wedding local in their hometown of Virginia Beach, so that their closest family and friends would be able to attend. “We also wanted to show off Virginia Beach to friends who are coming from afar and have added Virginia flare in the details of the wedding day,” Williams told Brides. The Cavalier Hotel served as the backdrop for the couple’s nuptials—chosen for its rich history, and beautifully done recent renovation.

Adam Barnes

When it came time to decide on a gown, Virginia was surprised to find out that her original vision of the perfect wedding dress was not what she wound up with. She ended up with two gorgeous wedding dresses, one for the ceremony, and one for the reception, that were total opposites. “One is me coming out my box and the other says ‘Virginia,’” she told Brides. For the ceremony, Virginia walked down the aisle in a floral embroidered romantic Marchesa gown featuring a deep v-neckline. For dancing at the reception it was a minimalistic strapless Reem Acra gown, with slight illusion at the bust and sides—the perfect choice to compliment the modern wedding décor. Adding to the look was a flower crown by florist Darling & Daughters.

Adam Barnes

The groom’s suit also had to stun, of course, and he did just that in a custom Dior suit designed by Kim Jones himself. The groomsmen were also outfitted in custom Dior, while the bridesmaids rocked the white dress trend in Katie May Collection.

“Fancy, but not uptight,” is how the bride described her wedding’s aesthetic. Keeping a neutral tone in various shades of white, nude, grey, smoke, and ivory, as well as marble accents, the couple set out to create an elegant, modern, environment that still overflowed in elegance. Starting with the greenery crawling up the columns of the ceremony space, the wedding’s floral design conveyed an organic sensibility mixed with their modern sensibility. Simple vases covered in lush white blooms, like garden roses, ranunculus, and lilies, mixed with greenery to achieve that balance throughout the wedding day. The bride’s father also lent his own collection of vintage cars to decorate the site’s entrance as guests came in.

Officiated by Pusha T’s brother, Gene “No Malice” Thornton, the intimate ceremony took place on the hotel’s Grand Loggia overlooking the ocean. The couple’s wedding planner, Victoria Hollander, set up a runway style aisle, where the couple could meet in the middle to say their vows, to represent their solid partnership, and combining their two lives in the middle. The altar was lined with greenery and the lacquered altar was surrounded by candles and mirrored and gold cubes to create a romantic atmosphere. To dry their happy tears, guests were treated to beautiful custom handkerchiefs with Pusha T and Virginia’s new monogram embroidered.

After saying “I do,” Pusha and Virginia danced their first dance as husband and wife to Curtis Mayfield’s “Makings of You.” The couple wanted to make sure their guests got out on the diamond-shaped marble dance floor so they outfitted the whole party in custom Adidas slides. Surprise performances had to be in effect at such a music heavy wedding, with the groom himself, and rapper Fabulous, stepping up to the mic to take on performer duties. DJ Clark Kent kicked things off with a tribute to Virginia’s musicians, and kept the party going until 1am.

Guests dined on a menu of lobster, lamb and short rib while a cigar roller camped out on the patio for guests to enjoy alongside the signature Cognac bar. Towards the end of the night a dessert room was unveiled, featuring a selection of mini desserts and a beautiful wedding cake, on golden shelves. As a final treat, guests were treated to a final late night send off snack, courtesy of Feather & Fin Food Truck—one of the couple’s favorite local eateries.

Adam Levine, Behati Prinsloo Wedding Photos: See Their Top Secret Mexican Wedding

no thumb

Ever since Behati Prinsloo and Adam Levine married four years ago in a top-secret wedding, they’ve been giving us serious #MarriageGoals. Since then, the picture-perfect couple has added to their family with two adorable little girls—daughters Dusty Rose and Gio Grace—and we’re constantly aww‘ing over how sweet the foursome is. Even cuter than their Instagram family shots? Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo’s perfect, under-the-radar, destination wedding! So of course, it’s time to look back on the Victoria’s Secret stunner and Maroon 5 crooner’s festive wedding day.

The Proposal:

After a quick breakup, followed by a quicker reunion, Sexiest Man Alive Levine took himself off the market in July 2013 and proposed to his supermodel girlfriend in romantic fashion—but not without losing a bit of his trademark cool. “Doesn’t matter how certain you think you are. You still get down on that knee and you just get woozy and you’re like, ‘I’m doing this. Oh my God.’ And you can’t be confident about it. It’s impossible,” Levine said on the Live with Kelly and Michael. “I’m a confident person, but I got down on that knee and everything changed immediately. I lost my equilibrium. I had to get on the other one,” he said.

“[The ring is] from the 1930s. It’s vintage and he picked it out,” the model shared with ABC News shortly after her surprise proposal.

The Wedding Details:

Celebrity wedding planners Yifat Oren and Stefanie Cove designed and coordinated the destination nuptials, held at Flora Farms in Los Cabos, Mexico. Oren and Cove organized large circular tables around mango trees for the reception (which followed a 20-minute ceremony officiated by Jonah Hill), and strung tiny white lights and long garlands of flowers from Arete Florals, according to People.

Their 275 A-list guests (fellow Victoria’s Secret models, Erin Heatherton, Candice Swanepoel, and Coco Rocha, Jason Segel, Hill, Robert Downey Jr.) dined on organic pork chops, fresh fish and beet salads, alcohol-infused paletas (Mexican popsicles), and treats from an organic ice cream cart while at those tables, though they didn’t stay seated for long. “Most people finished eating in under an hour and were ready to party,” a source told People.

“This was a dancing crowd,” the source added. “Everyone was dancing late into the night.” And with musical guests like theirs, it’s no wonder. Guests took in multiple sets from world-class musical entertainment, including Maroon 5 (Levine’s band), Stevie Nicks, Sublime, and Prinsloo herself! The Namibian-born model dedicated the Bright Eyes song “First Day of My Life” to her groom; she reportedly told Levine early in their relationship that she wanted to sing the tune to her future husband.

The Dress:

Photos of Prinsloo’s wedding dress have never been made public, but the supermodel reportedly donned a custom Marchesa creation in blush, the fruit of a four-month partnership with the brand’s designers. The inspiration? A dress straight from Marchesa’s fall 2011 runway the model fell in love with (above). She did make some alterations to the style, opting for a sleeker silhouette, and thin spaghetti straps instead of embroidered bold shoulders. Christian Louboutin was the man on her feet.

After the wedding the couple jetted off to the bride’s homeland for a South African honeymoon.

43 Couture Fashion Week Dresses Brides-to-be Need to See

GettyImages-991903538_master.jpg

We all know fashion trends begin and end with Paris Couture Fashion Week. Every fashion trend that makes its way to wedding dresses, first shows itself on the runways every July and January in Paris. Major designer fashion houses like Chanel, Dior, Valentino, Ralph & Russo (the same brand responsible for Meghan Markle’s engagement photo dress), Elie Saab, and Galia Lahav, show their haute couture collections every season, and most of them close each runway show with a show-stopping bride. While the bridal finale tends to drop jaws across Paris, the collections themselves are works of art that bring along everything we should expect to see trickle down to ready-to-wear, and eventually wedding dresses. But what does that mean for you and your wedding dress dear bride? Trends, trends, trends. We’re rounding up our favorite trends from the Paris Couture Fashion Week runways.

Colorful wedding gowns don’t feel as boundary-pushing as they once did—blush, blue, and even yellow-tinted wedding dresses are not as surprising. The new crop of colors takes that look into a decidedly cooler palette with greys of all shades, and refreshing and calming lavenders take over for the pinker hues. Feathers continue to be at the top of the trending texture list, and were seen as accents and even all over dresses at Valentino. Bold shoulders and big skirts (think Princess Diana’s wedding look) were also all over the runways, making room for another 80s trend: power dressing. The tailored power look of the 1980s was seen on suiting, capes, sharply deep cut necklines, and one-shoulder frocks.
