Someone’s been preparing her passport for a few new stamps! Meghan Markle’s mother, Doria Ragland, was spotted at Los Angeles International Airport on her way to England on Monday, presumably to visit her newly royal daughter. Inside Edition captured footage of the mother of the Duchess of Sussex dressed casually for her flight, being escorted through the airport by an attendant.
It has been rumored that Ragland is considering making the move to London to be closer to her daughter for a while now. The mother-daughter duo have always been quite close, and as previously reported, the California-dwelling yoga instructor and social worker for the geriatric community made a secret trip to London over the summer to visit her daughter and new son-in-law, Prince Harry. Royal commentators were calling it an “extended stay at their Oxfordshire home,” although it could definitely be seen as a “can I live here?” test-run.
U.K. publication the Daily Mail reported that Ragland was planning to move to Britain around her 62nd birthday to be closer to Markle. Sources told the Daily Mail that the move could happen as early as September (Ragland’s birth month)—and that she is excited to cross the pond for good.
“She fell in love with England and told me when she got back that it’s somewhere she believes she too could happily live,” one of their sources said. “I think this has been coming for a while. Even before the wedding she told me how she misses her Megs so much she would do anything to be closer to her, especially now Meghan will be starting a family of her own.”
Markle’s mother has previously been called “a pillar of strength for Meghan” by royal expert Omid Scobie. Soon, that support system could be a lot closer to home for the newest member of the royal family.
