See This Adorable Dog Photobomb His Parents' Engagement Photos

Stocksy_txp7055c33b4A9200_Small_2015480.jpg

There are few things that can go wrong when trying to include your dog into your engagement photos. You can expect to have a little trouble getting your dog to stay focused and look at the camera, but you typically don’t have to worry about your pup stealing the show—unless your doggo is Louie the dachshund.

Megan Determan, owner of the cute little hot dog, just wanted to take engagement photos with her four-legged friend and her now-husband Chris Kluthe, but the shoot quickly became less about the couple’s budding love story and more about Louie. The dachshund put on a show for the camera, frolicking in the leaves and completely blocking the couple’s shot.

Determan wasn’t at all surprised that Louie had to make it all about himself. The bride told BuzzFeed at the time that Louie sometimes has trouble sharing her with Kluthe. “If I’m snuggled up with Chris, Louie has to be right in there too,” Determan said. “If I’m giving Chris a back rub, Louie wants to get one at the same time. When we were practicing our first dance the other day, he sat there and barked until I picked him up.”

On top of that, Louie loves leaves, so he really couldn’t help himself when photographers Dan and Karin Berdal of DnK Photography set the scene. “I found out a couple falls ago that he loves leaves, so every year, we make a pile for him and watch and laugh,” Determan said. “I wasn’t surprised he was putting on a show for them, but I loved watching our photographers laugh.”

The Berdal’s posted a photo of one of Louie’s best shots to Facebook with the caption,”We love it when couples include their pets in engagement photos…. but maybe this guy was having too much fun : ).”

Karin told BuzzFeed, “We could tell it was absolutely hysterical, even in the small version on our camera.”

Lucky for this couple, they didn’t have to worry about Louie stealing the show again on their actual wedding day, since the dog didn’t score an invite. “Chris jokes that it’s my day, not Louie’s,” Determan said.

40% of Women Really, Really Want a Holiday Proposal

no thumb

The pros and cons of a holiday proposal are definitely up for debate, but you have to admit there is something about the crisp air and magical lights that is inherently romantic. In fact, a new study by English jewelry company Beaverbrooks—which surveyed 2,000 people—revealed that four in 10 British women are secretly expecting a Christmas proposal, and that one in five women would be “very upset” if they didn’t get engaged on a major holiday.

While not getting an engagement ring when you think a proposal is right around the corner can be disappointing any time of year, being let down during the holidays has to be 10 times worse. In the event that their happy holiday turned sour, one in 10 women surveyed said they would need to have a serious discussion about their future, and 5% would consider ending their relationship. These women shouldn’t have much to worry about though, as Beaverbrooks estimates 789,775 proposals will take place this Christmas. But unfortunately, it doesn’t sound like everyone will be jolly with just any old proposal. The survey also revealed that 40% of already-engaged women admitted to being disappointed with how their partner proposed.

“Our research shows just how important it is for couples to get the details of a Christmas proposal right, from planning the dream location to choosing the perfect ring,” Lorna Haddon, head of diamonds and jewelry at Beaverbrooks, said in a release. “It’s all about knowing exactly what your partner would want and making it special and memorable for all the right reasons.”

According to the survey, would-be-fiancés can expect a big fat NO if they pop the question while drunk. 63% said it would be the “ultimate proposal no-go.” In addition to a boozy ask, proposing in front of the television, while cooking Christmas dinner, or in an overly big and elaborate way all made the list of what not to do during a holiday proposal.

If you’re hoping for a “yes,” getting down on one knee (another must for the women surveyed) in front of a log fire might be a surefire—pun intended—way to go, as 45% of women surveyed are hoping for this scenario. Others said opening the ring as a Christmas present, proposing in the snow, or spelling out “Will you marry me?” in Christmas lights would also suffice. One in 20 women even hope their partner will dress up as Santa himself to deliver the ring!

Moreover, 29% of women want their partner to know exactly the type of engagement ring they want, with 42% of women admitting to previously dropping hints of their preferred style.

What are some other holiday proposal dos and dont’s did these women reveal? Read on below!

What NOT to do for a Christmas proposal

  1. Do it while drunk
  2. Do it while watching TV
  3. Serve the ring in the Christmas dinner
  4. Do it during Christmas karaoke
  5. Arrange a big elaborate proposal
  6. Film them first thing in the morning
  7. Do it during the family dinner
  8. Say it casually rather than getting down on one knee
  9. Give the engagement ring as their only present
  10. Do it when your other half is still in pajamas

Top engagement ring Christmas blunders

  1. Not hiding the receipt well enough
  2. Giving your other half a ring INSTEAD of a present
  3. Hiding the ring in the Christmas dinner
  4. Using a toy ring to propose
  5. Not having a ring at all when proposing
  6. Getting the size completely wrong
  7. Asking your partner’s friend to pick out the ring
  8. Not gauging what style of ring they’d like beforehand

2019's Top Fitness Trend Will Be a Busy Bride-to-Be's Dream

Stocksy_txp8888cdc6QTx100_Small_1423052.jpg

In the wedding world, you’ve got to think ahead. Since you’ll most likely be planning your big day months ahead, you’ll of course want to stay on top of what’s trending in wedding dresses and decor. But it’s not a bad idea to also have the latest fitness trends on your radar. Luckily, ClassPass has already predicated what the top fitness trend will be in 2019!

Whether you’re a longtime fitness fanatic or just got a gym membership, switching up your workout routine is the perfect way to keep yourself—and your body—from getting bored. Thankfully, you can spice up your routine in the coming year with the latest fitness trends. ClassPass, the site that lets up book across fitness studios without having multiple memberships, recently released their breakdown of 2018 fitness trends, as well as their predictions for the new year. So, what’s on the fitness forecast?

ClassPass predicts that class times will be shorter come 2019. “ClassPass users were 33 percent more likely to book a class under 45 mins (44 minutes or less) in 2018 than they were in 2017,” the company said in a release. “We predict this trend of shorter class times will continue to rise in 2019.”

This is a major win for busy brides-to-be who might find it difficult to keep up with their routines in the midst of juggling wedding planning with the rest of their hectic schedules. Between classes that last for less than an hour and the rise of streaming workouts, brides will have no problem squeezing in a quick workout.

In addition to shorter class times, some of the hottest workouts from 2018 might carry over as well. Strength training was the most popular workout genre for the year, notes ClassPass. For brides looking to tone up, it’s the perfect place to start. “It builds lean muscle mass, which improves the overall tone of the body,” Jennifer Dene of Mind Body Bride previously told Brides.

The use of treadmills is also making a comeback, says ClassPass. “Treadmill classes were the fastest growing across the U.S.,” the report reads. “We saw an 82 percent increase in classes that incorporated in treadmills in 2018 vs. 2017.” Boutique fitness classes like Barry’s Bootcamp and Orange Theory have popularized full-body workouts that include interval training on the tread, with strength training on the floor, for a workout that will guarantee that sore-in-a-good-way feeling.

Watch Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas Cut Their 18-Foot Wedding Cake With a Literal Sword

GettyImages-1067902274.jpg

Our predictions were right, Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’ wedding was epically lavish. From the venue to the multi-day celebration and the dresses—yes, plural—everything was over-the-top, right down to the wedding cake.

For the confectionary portion of the couple’s Christian ceremony, Chopra and Jonas served an 18-foot wedding cake. The cake was extravagantly decorated with tiny windows, balconies and gold columns. To create such a head-tuning cake, Jonas flew in personal chefs from Dubai and Kuwait to make it happen, according to Delish.

Naturally, a cake of this stature and significance couldn’t be cut with a regular triangular cake knife. According to a People TV clip, the newlyweds took did the honors with a legit sword, because that’s not extra at all.

In the clip, the bride and groom take the sword and try cutting into the cake together. Between the expression on Chopra’s face and her seemingly mouthing the words “oh sh*t,” the task was much more difficult than she expected.

Most likely none of the guests caught the bride struggling. We imagine their eyes were fixated on the sky as three minutes worth of fireworks reportedly went off during the cake cutting.

Are you even surprised? The cake was just icing on top of the entire wedding fit for a royal. It took place at a literal palace and the bride herself looked straight out of fairytale in both of her bridal looks. Chopra’s long-sleeve, high-neck Ralph Lauren gown—complete with a 75-foot veil—reportedly took 1,826 hours to hand-embroider. The inner layer of the lace-illusion frock was decked out in 2,380,000 mother of pearl sequins. Her Hindu ceremony dress designed by Sabyasachi took an additional 3,720 hours to make.

Queen Elizabeth Accidentally Revealed a Never-Before-Seen Photo of Her Great-Grandchildren

GettyImages-522820942.jpg

We are always grateful for a new photo of the royals, even when it happens on accident!

During a painting unveiling—celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Royal Air Force—photographers captured more than just Queen Elizabeth II’s reaction. In the background of the photo another framed image can (kind of) be seen featuring QEII’s great-grandchildren on a small table behind her. It clearly skipped the Queen’s mind to put it away before her guests arrived at Windsor Castle, but we’re so appreciative of the royal blunder.

According to Cosmopolitan, the photo shows Queen Elizabeth and her husband Prince Philip with Princess Charlotte, Prince George, Isla Phillips, Savannah Phillips, and Mia Tindall. The reportedly never-before-seen photo seems to be a few years old as it features a baby Charlotte on the queen’s lap, George nestled in between his grandparents and no sign of Prince Louis.

WPA Pool

The Queen will have to update her photo soon to incorporate the family’s latest little blessings: Louis and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s soon-to-be baby. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expecting their first child together sometime in the spring.

While you wait for those beautiful baby pics, you can admire the most recent family portrait. In honor of Prince Charles’s 70th birthday last month, Kensington Palace posted a new shot of the fam on Instagram. The image features Charles and his wife, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, seated with George and Charlotte. Kate Middleton and baby Louis, Prince William, Harry, and Meghan are all standing behind them.

When all your family photos look this good, we’re not surprised Queen Elizabeth “accidentally” leaked one.
