Jack Brooksbank's Name Was Misspelled by the Royal Family’s Twitter Account

GettyImages-940906140.jpg

No one is immune to pre-wedding jitters, even the people running the royal family’s official social media accounts. As first noticed by BuzzFeed, the official “Royal Family” Twitter account referred to Princess Eugenie’s fiancé, Jack Brooksbank, as “Mr. Jacksbrook” in a Thursday morning message.

Princess Eugenie and Mr. Jacksbrook have invited people from the charities they support into the grounds of Windsor Castle tomorrow — to help celebrate their wedding day,” the tweet read. The message was apparently deleted about an hour later to fix the typo, and the tweet was later reposted with Brooksbank’s correct name. Eagle-eyed royal watchers, though, were quick to screenshot and preserve the error for all of eternity.

The couple will be married tomorrow afternoon at St. George Chapel in Windsor Castle, which you might recall is the same location as Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s nuptials earlier this year.

While we’ll all soon be privy to the glory of the latest royal wedding—if you want to watch it live, it’ll air on TLC—many details about Princess Eugenie and Brooksbank’s wedding have already been confirmed. Over 800 guests have been invited to the ceremony, which is significantly larger than what we witnessed with Markle and Prince Harry. Following the ceremony, the couple will attend a customary lunchtime reception with the queen at Windsor Castle, with an evening, black-tie reception then taking place at the bride’s family home, Royal Lodge in Windsor. “The plan is for a marquee to be set up in the grounds and dancing late into the night,” a source told Vanity Fair.

Meghan Markle's Ex-Husband, Trevor Engelson, Remarries

no thumb

Meghan Markle’s ex-husband, producer Trevor Engelson, got married this past weekend to his girlfriend of one year, nutritionist Tracey Kurland. According to The Daily Mail, the couple had their traditional ceremony in front of a group of family and friends in Hidden Hills, California, which was described as “low-key” by the guests. “The wedding seemed like a small, casual, but intimate affair—a world away from Meghan’s huge marriage to Harry in England,” one guest told the Mail. “The bride and groom looked so much in love and very happy together. The whole event was so them.” For the occasion, the bride wore an off-the-shoulder, mid-calf white dress, while the groom opted for a casual gray suit, according to The Daily Mail. The couple became engaged earlier this year, just two weeks after Markle and Prince Harry’s royal wedding. Interesting timing.

Markle and Engelson were married for about two years, choosing to tie the knot in a weekend-long ceremony in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, with more than a hundred guests in 2011. (They dated for seven years prior to their wedding.) They reportedly cited irreconcilable differences in their divorce papers, and he was described at the time as being hit “pretty hard” by the split in the tabloids. “He went through a rough time during the breakup and that was only made worse when Meghan got together with Harry last year,” a source told The Sun, when Markle began dating her new royal boo*.* “He had to relive it all again—this time in public. It wasn’t the most amicable of divorces and there were hurt feelings on both sides. Now he has bounced back and things are looking great for him.”

Interestingly, Engelson has never publicly commented on how he feels about Markle and Harry—but sometimes actions speak louder than words. Last year, he brought petty to another level by optioning a television show about a woman who leaves her husband to be with a prince. It might be described as “fiction,” but, yeah, not exactly.

Glenn Weiss and His New Fiancée Discuss That Epic Emmys Proposal

no thumb

In one of the most joyful awards show moments in recent memory, director Glenn Weiss — who netted an Emmy win in the Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special category — decided to forgo a classic thank-you speech in favor of, well, proposing to his long-time girlfriend, Jan Svendsen. Overjoyed, she said yes in front of everyone, and the crowd went nuts. Leave it to a seasoned director to create the most memorable moment of the evening!

The couple, who are still in the honeymoon stage of their proposal, swung by Jimmy Kimmel Live! Tuesday night to recap their incredible 24 hours. (While wearing robes and drinking Champagne, of course.) And as gutsy as Weiss admits the proposal was — yeah, it could’ve spurred a very public rejection — he wasn’t too worried about Svendsen turning him down, because there was something else entirely on his mind that kept him more preoccupied: the orchestra playing him off mid-proposal.

“I was actually really worried about that, having been in the seat and knowing how those shows function,” he explained. “So, I really kind of ran through what I wanted to say in my head and then as the night was going on, and I saw how much time — I kept editing and filtering and just hoping it wouldn’t go too long, because I didn’t want that to happen.” Svendsen reiterated that she’d had no idea about the coming proposal, which Weiss said he began to plan after the death of his mother, earlier this month. “It’s been a rough couple of weeks, and I think maybe I got a little more perspective on life, and it just became clear about a week or two ago that I wanted to do something, at some point coming,” Weiss said. “I didn’t think it would happen this quickly, but an opportunity arose.”

As Weiss told reporters immediately after the proposal, he didn’t have a back-up plan in the event that Svendsen turned him down (or if he didn’t win). “Our life is a plan A!” he proudly joked. Congrats you two!

The Bachelor's Bekah Martinez Is Pregnant

no thumb

It’s a surprise so good, the reality television gods only wish they could’ve seen it all unfold onscreen.

Bekah Martinez, a fan-favorite contestant who competed for Arie Luyendyk Jr.’s heart on this past season of The Bachelor—and has since become one of his most outspoken and harshest critics—is pregnant with her first child. Martinez announced the news on her YouTube channel with a video, and confirmed the father of her child is her boyfriend, Grayston Leonard, who she’s been dating for about seven months. Martinez is 20 weeks along, and has a due date of January 2019.

“It’s the one thing that I’ve known with certainty for so long. I’ve gone back and forth on the idea of marriage and relationships, but I’ve always felt sure that I want to be a mom,” she told PureWow in an interview, noting how she wanted to keep the pregnancy removed from the public eye as long as possible. “I wanted time to process it between Gray and I and our family without all of the exterior noise chiming in.”

While Martinez notes that the pregnancy was indeed “unplanned” and occurred three months into their relationship, she hopes her openness on the subject will help destigmatize the negative connotations often associated with unexpected pregnancies. “I wanted to share this experience with other women who have been in a similar situation or might be in the future, so they know they’re not alone,” she explained. For instance, she and Leonard have zero plans to marry at the moment—it hasn’t even been discussed. “I think pregnancy is better than Bachelor in Paradise. Although I’m probably equally as sweaty, exhausted, nauseous, stressed out, and emotional, at least I don’t have to worry about finding a man,” she joked. “I already have that one covered.”

Best wishes to Martinez for her pregnancy journey! We wonder if Luyendyk will send a baby gift.

Ed Sheeran Stopped Making Music for a Year to Travel the World With His Fiancée

no thumb

After quietly dating for about three years, Ed Sheeran and his fiancée, Cherry Seaborn, became engaged over the winter. (That ring, swoon!) The couple grew up and attended school together as friends, with the romantic aspect of their relationship only kicking off as adults in 2015, in the midst of Sheeran’s ascension as a global superstar. While the duo have generally remained private about their courtship—so private that they may have already secretly wedded—Sheeran is now opening up about how important it was for him to take a year off work to advance their relationship.

“I ended the tour and I [realized] I hadn’t ever really lived a life,” he explained to People in a new interview. “It’s quite weird being a touring ‘celebrity.’ People assume you’re living the best f*cking life in the world, but you don’t really get to live any life because you work the whole time. I was like ‘f*ck, I’m 25, I left school early and went straight into touring. I haven’t properly formed relationships with people so I needed to have a year off and spend it with friends and family and Cherry and actually become a human being.”

Sheeran’s work and social media break amassed the entirety of 2016, and during that time, he and Seaborn traveled the world together and became inseparable as a result. “Fiji was pretty cool. We did a road trip of Australia that was great. Fourth of July, that was fun coming to America. Lots of things! We did a road trip of Italy,” he said. “She hadn’t really done anything either, so it was an opportunity for both of us to get to know each other and live life a little bit.”

In fact, some of their private photos and videos will soon be shown in Sheeran’s new Apple Music documentary, Songwriter, even though Sheeran was a bit skeptical at first. “She’s awesome, but I was against having her in the documentary just because I like to keep my personal life private,” he explained. “But I think it’s such a split second of it and it does just capture what she’s like. It’s nice for people to see a little bit of that!” We have a feeling his fans will agree.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Reveal Their Royal Pet Peeve During the WellChild Awards

GettyImages-1000568868.jpg

Living a life where the entire world looks at you through a non-stop lens of curiosity would be tough on anybody, especially newlywed royals Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, who have the entire weight of representing a country on their shoulders. However, as happy and confident as they may be, there’s one aspect of royal life they’re not too pleased with—and they’ve appeared to make it known.

Meghan and Prince Harry attended the WellChild Awards on Tuesday afternoon, where the duo helped honor ill children and their caregivers. (And because we know you’re curious, Markle wore an all-black look with an Altuzarra pantsuit and black silk top by Deitas.) The event went by without a hitch, especially when the couple talked to Mckenzie Brackley, one of the children who received an award for his fight with acute flaccid paralysis. According to a field report by the Daily Mail, during a standard photo op between Brackley and the royals, the youngster apparently expressed dismay that so many cameras were around, saying how he doesn’t like being photographed. And what do you know? The feeling was mutual among the trio.

“They were so lovely,” Brackley’s mother told the Daily Mail. “They knew [Mckenzie] was scared of the cameras and they said they didn’t like the cameras either so they turned around. They said he was amazing and to keep going the way he is going and told him to look after me.” Despite their aversion to the cameras, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex socialized with the children for well over two hours with lenses snapping away—Meghan even handed out peonies to everyone—with Harry capping off the afternoon with a lovely speech. “I’m especially grateful to be able to share the scope and magnitude of this work with my wife who joins me here this evening,” he said.

Harry has long been a vocal critic of paparazzi, where he has taken on an unusually public stance—for the royal family, that is—about their methodology of doing anything for a profitable photo. This comes, of course, as Harry’s mother, Princess Diana, was killed following a paparazzi chase in Paris in 1997, a traumatic event that Harry and his brother, Prince William, rarely discuss.

Neil Young and Daryl Hannah Reportedly Married in Private Ceremony

daryl-neil.jpg

Start thinking of a cute couple name—Neryl? Youngah? (The options are not exactly limitless.)

It’s being reported that Neil Young and his girlfriend of many years, Daryl Hannah, married in a small ceremony in California over the weekend. Per The Guardian, the couple are said to have tied the knot surrounded by a select group of friends and family members in Atascadero, reportedly after another ceremony on Young’s yacht near the San Juan Islands, off the coast of Washington state, earlier in the week.

The notoriously private couple have yet to comment on their apparent wedded bliss, with the only source of insider confirmation coming from Mark Miller, a guitarist who’s frequently worked with Young in the past. “Congratulations to Daryl Hannah and Neil Young on their wedding today. May they have a long and happy relationship,” he wrote on Facebook, before clarifying he didn’t actually attend either ceremony. “I only knew about it because one of my friends attended the ceremony in Atascadero and announced it on his page.” As for Hannah, perhaps the cryptic Instagram of an owl she posted a few days ago can serve as some sort of pseudo-confirmation: “Someone’s watching over us …. love & only love,” she captioned it.

Despite dating for more than four years, neither Young nor Hannah have divulged much about their relationship. But Young recently sung the praises of his lady during an interview with Yahoo!, saying how much they enjoy the banalities of doing Pilates and water exercises together. (Awwww!) “We’re very lucky to have found each other,” he said at the time. “I’m eternally thankful for the opportunity to share my life with her, and she feels the same.”

No word yet if Young’s “Harvest Moon,” one of the most popular first-dance wedding songs, was played at either ceremony.

Salma Hayek and Her Husband Renewed Their Vows in Bora Bora

GettyImages-958398172.jpg

Bora Bora really did bring double the fun.

Capping off their tropical vacation on the island, Salma Hayek’s husband, French businessman François-Henri Pinault, decided to surprise his wife with a vow renewal ceremony. As chronicled on Hayek’s Instagram, Pinault tricked her into thinking they were going to be spending a couple’s day at the spa, only for him to lead her to a secluded beach for the renewals. Hayek looked gorgeous with a flowing red dress, a bouquet of white flowers, and a white floral lei, while Pinault embodied the athleisure spirit with a white T-shirt and joggers. (He couldn’t give away the surprise, after all.) The duo’s 10-year-old daughter, Valentina, and a few other friends were also there to celebrate, and one of them was lucky enough to catch Hayek’s bouquet.

“The summer is coming to an end and my best moment was when my husband surprised me with a vow renewal,” Hayek wrote on Instagram. “It was not what I would have chosen to wear to my wedding but I was told I was going to the spa!”

In another photo from the ceremony, all Hayek had to do was caption it with a heart.

The duo previously tied the knot nine years ago on Valentine’s Day—how fitting!—at the much more casual City Hall of the Sixth Arrondissement in Paris, which happens to be owned by Pinault’s family. And while she chooses not to publicly discuss her marriage much, it’s clear the two laid a strong foundation for success. “I married the right guy,” she explained last year, per People. “That is probably the most important thing. We support each other in everything we do. We want the other one to strive. [It] makes you happy when the other one strives. And you know what, we don’t have a very strong social life, because we really like to spend time together. So we do spend a lot of quality time together.”
