Meghan Markle Gave a Heartfelt Speech About the “Labor of Love” That Is the 'Together' Charity Cookbook

no thumb

On Thursday, only a few days after Kensington Palace announced Meghan Markle‘s first solo royal charity endeavor, the Duchess of Sussex hosted a luncheon in celebration of her new project, Together: Our Community Cookbook. The book, available September 25, contains recipes and stories from the women who work in London’s Hubb Community Kitchen, a communal cooking and dining space served by and for the communities impacted by the tragic Grenfell Tower fire last year. At Thursday’s event, as Meghan’s husband, Prince Harry, and mom, Doria Ragland, looked on, the duchess stood up in front of the women of Hubb and other guests—to whom she had reportedly just served lunch—to open up about the time she spent working in the kitchen and on the cookbook, and about Hubb’s far-reaching impact.

According to ITV‘s royal correspondent Chris Ship, Meghan spoke (without notes) for nearly three minutes. In videos Ship captured at the event and shared on Twitter, per Elle, the duchess looks excited and grateful to be launching the project and speaks from the heart about its importance.

“Working on this project for the past nine months has been a tremendous labor of love,” she began. “I had just recently moved to London, and I felt so immediately embraced by the women in the kitchen: their warmth, their kindness, and also to be able to be in this city and to see in this one small room how multicultural it was. On a personal level, I feel so proud to live in a city that can have so much diversity. It’s 12 countries represented in this one group of women! It’s pretty outstanding.”

Meghan continued, “There’s so many people to thank. Of course, Penguin Random House, your support and belief in this from the beginning has been just incredible. And Al Manaar, thank you so much for the support and seeing this through for us. Our team at Kensington Palace and the Royal Foundation—on a personal note, I’m especially grateful to them because this is my first project, so I appreciate your support in the vision I had for this and seeing it come to fruition. And then everyone behind the scenes, I mean, it truly took a village to see this through!

“Everyone embraced this so deeply because it’s been a passion project for all of us, and for very good reason. I said in the foreword that this is more than a cookbook. And what I mean by that is, the power of food is more than just the meal itself. It is the story behind it. And when you get to know the story of the recipe, you get to know the person behind it. And that’s what we’re talking about in terms of coming together, to really engage and talk, and to be able to celebrate what connects us rather than what divides us. That, I believe, is the ethos of Together,” she said.

Meghan ended her gracious speech by turning the attention back to the women at the core of the project. “So, to the women of the Hubb Community Kitchen, thank you so much for allowing me to be part of this adventure with you,” she said. “I’m so privileged to know you. I’m so excited to see the projects you’re going to continue to do in your own community and the community at large, and also how you’re going to inspire people globally by sharing your stories and your recipes. It’s so impactful. You can see, just in a few days alone—and the book’s not even out yet—what you’ve been able to do. That’s a testament to what this means to people, and I’m so proud of you.”

Lady Gabriella Windsor, Prince Harry's Cousin, Is Engaged to Thomas Kingston

no thumb

Hopefully, the royal family saved the decorations from Meghan Markle and Prince Harry‘s wedding and will do so again after Princess Eugenie’s upcoming nuptials, since they’ll soon have yet another royal wedding to host. On Wednesday, Buckingham Palace announced in a statement that Lady Gabriella Windsor is engaged to Thomas Kingston, and they’re set to wed sometime in spring 2019, according to The Telegraph. Kingston proposed in August, while he and Lady Gabriella were vacationing on the Isle of Sark.

Lady Gabriella is the daughter of Prince Michael of Kent, first cousin to Queen Elizabeth II, according to People. Per The Telegraph, “Ella” is a senior director at Branding Latin America and regularly contributes to publications like The London Magazine. Kingston, meanwhile, works in frontier market investment as a director of Devonport Capital. Interestingly, Kingston reportedly previously dated Pippa Middleton. But there appear to be no hard feelings between the Middletons and the Windsors, since Ella and Thomas attended Middleton’s wedding to James Matthews in 2017, according to royal correspondent Rebecca English.

Before Lady Gabriella Windsor walks down the aisle, however, another of her royal cousins will do so first. Her cousin Princess Eugenie is set to marry Jack Brooksbank next month. The big wedding will take place on Friday, October 12, at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle, the same place where Prince Harry married Meghan Markle earlier this year. Eugenie’s nuptials reportedly include an 850-person guest list, 1,200 more viewing spots for members of the public, and a mind-boggling budget. Luckily, Ella and Thomas will have several months to figure out how to top her other cousins’ royal weddings—they’ll need it.

Watch Meghan Markle See Her Givenchy Wedding Dress the Day Before the Royal Wedding

no thumb

Seeing your wedding dress ahead of your big day is bound to fill you with excitement, maybe a bit of anxiety, and a dozen other emotions. Now, just imagine that in addition to your friends, family, and soon-to-be spouse, millions of other onlookers will also be seeing you in your gown. We’d expect some serious nerves! But, when Meghan Markle was met with that exact scenario the day before her royal wedding to Prince Harry, the newly minted duchess proved to be incredibly cool, calm, and collected. (Would you ever expect her to not keep her poise?) Luckily, the moment Markle saw her Givenchy wedding dress was captured on camera for an upcoming docuseries about Queen Elizabeth II, Queen of the World, and can be seen in a brand-new teaser trailer for the doc released Tuesday by ITV.

In the blink-and-you’ll-miss-it clip, Meghan, wearing the navy Roland Mouret dress she donned the day before her nuptials, is seen smiling over her gorgeous gown. While carefully examining her delicate veil, which was embroidered with the national flowers of each Commonwealth country, the duchess can be heard saying, “Fifty-three countries, oh my goodness! It will keep us busy.”

Indeed it will: In just a few weeks, she and Prince Harry will set out on their first royal tour of the Commonwealth, traveling to Australia, Fiji, the Kingdom of Tonga, and New Zealand for about two weeks in October.

Meghan’s participation in the two-part docuseries will also mark her first televised interview since her wedding. Per ITV, in the doc, Meghan opens up about “her wedding dress and her early interactions with the Commonwealth, which means so much to her grandmother-in-law.” Besides paying homage to all 53 Commonwealth nations in her wedding ensemble and embarking on royal visits to several of those countries, Meghan will also continue Queen Elizabeth’s work with the Commonwealth as she accompanies Harry in his own duties as a Commonwealth Youth Ambassador.

Queen of the World, featuring Meghan’s interview and—fingers crossed—a few more special moments between her and her wedding dress, will air in the U.K. on ITV on September 25, and in the U.S. on HBO on October 1.

2018 Emmys: Producer and Director Glenn Weiss Proposes to His Girlfriend During Acceptance Speech

GettyImages-1035170388.jpg

Producer and director Glenn Weiss arrived at Monday night’s 2018 Emmys with a few statuettes already under his belt, and ended the ceremony with one more Emmy and a brand-new fiancée. About halfway through the show, Weiss was awarded the trophy for Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special for his position as the director of this year’s Academy Awards. Though his acceptance speech started out fairly run-of-the-mill, it soon took a shocking, heartwarming turn.

After doling out a few thank-yous, Weiss began speaking of his late mother, whom he said would’ve been the proudest of his big win. “Part of my heart is broken. I don’t think it will ever be repaired. But she’s in me and she always will be. Mom always believed in finding the sunshine in things and she adored my girlfriend Jan. Jan, you are the sunshine in my life. And Mom was right, don’t ever let go of your sunshine,” he said, before becoming visibly nervous.

“You wonder why I don’t like to call you my girlfriend? Because I want to call you my wife,” Weiss told a shocked Jan Svendsen, who was sitting in the audience. The crowd, predictably, went wild.

Weiss then pulled an heirloom ring from his suit pocket as Svendsen made her way up to the stage. “This is the ring that my dad put on my mom’s finger 67 years ago. And to my sisters and brothers: I didn’t swipe it, Dad knows I have it, OK?” he joked. “Jan, I want to put this ring that my mom wore on your finger in front of all these people and in front of my mom and your parents watching from above. Will you marry me?”

With tears in both of their eyes, Svendsen accepted Weiss’s proposal and gave him a huge kiss onstage. And that is what we call a Hollywood ending.

Meghan Markle Collaborates on Cookbook Supporting Those Impacted by the Grenfell Tower Fire

Wedding in the Maldives islands, Its celebration of happiness in the middle of ocean with World class Accomodation and Food on your Holiday package, Photo by Asad

In her now-defunct lifestyle blog The Tig, Meghan Markle professed time and again to being a foodie. She shared countless recipes for her favorite meals, often pairing them with stories about her love of food and its power to bring people together. Though she shut down the blog and her social media accounts—no more foodstagrams!—before marrying Prince Harry and becoming an official member of the royal family, that definitely doesn’t mean Meghan has had to abdicate her foodie status. In a series of tweets on Monday, Kensington Palace announced that the Duchess of Sussex’s latest charitable endeavor concerns a new cookbook, Together: Our Community Cookbook, the proceeds of which will go toward communities affected by the devastating 2017 Grenfell Tower fire.

In photos and videos shared by the palace, Meghan cooks and laughs alongside the women of the community, who came together after the fire to start a communal kitchen. “Last summer, a group of women gathered in a communal kitchen at the Al Manaar Centre in West London, where they could prepare fresh food for their families, friends, and neighbours,” the palace tweeted. “As they cooked together and shared recipes, as a community they began to connect, heal, and look forward. Word spread and more women joined in—this was the start of the Hubb Community Kitchen.”

Per the palace, Meghan has been making “regular private visits” to the kitchen since January, and was “inspired by how the project empowers women at a grassroots level.” She supported the women in their efforts to create the cookbook, and has penned its foreword—and even makes a cameo appearance on its cover. Profits from the cookbook will go straight to the Hubb Community Kitchen, named after the Arabic word for “love,” and will help it stay open up to seven days a week.

“I immediately felt connected to this community kitchen; it is a place for women to laugh, grieve, cry, and cook together. Melding cultural identities under a shared roof, it creates a space to feel a sense of normalcy—in its simplest form, the universal need to connect, nurture, and commune through food, through crisis or joy—something we can all relate to,” the duchess said in a statement, via the Royal Foundation. “Through this charitable endeavor, the proceeds will allow the kitchen to thrive and keep the global spirit of community alive.”

More information about the project can be found here, and the cookbook, which contains more than 50 recipes from the women of the communal kitchen and will be officially released on September 20, can be pre-ordered here.

Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin Reportedly Took a Trip to the NYC Marriage Bureau

no thumb

Set your countdown clocks and Google alerts, because there’s a very, very good chance that Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin might be getting married sometime between now and November 13, somewhere in the state of New York. The latest intel on the matter arrived Thursday afternoon in the form of a blurry paparazzi shot and a few witness statements, and it is, in fact, extremely convincing. Per TMZ, the photo in question was snapped as Bieber and Baldwin walked up the steps of the New York City Clerk’s Office, which contains the city’s Marriage Bureau, the distributor of marriage licenses.

Eyewitnesses inside the office told TMZ that the lovebirds appeared emotional over the ordeal, with Bieber reportedly even shedding a few tears while picking up the (alleged) license with his fiancée. “I can’t wait to marry you, baby,” he reportedly told Baldwin at one point.

If true, and Bieber and Baldwin are indeed now in possession of a marriage license, previous reports that the pair were waiting until 2019 to tie the knot would be rendered completely inaccurate. According to the Clerk’s Office, once obtained, a marriage license can’t be signed for at least 24 hours and stays valid for only 60 days. Additionally, it can only be used for weddings that take place within New York state, meaning the Biebwin nuptials would likely occur in the vicinity of New York City, sometime between Friday afternoon and midnight on November 13. That narrows things down.

Just this week, Baldwin spilled some details about her upcoming wedding. “I just picture lights strung everywhere,” she told The Cut on Thursday. “I think having it in the woods would be so beautiful.” At the time, the 21-year-old also hinted that the wedding would be on the West Coast in 2019, making the errand she ran with her husband-to-be later that day all the more confusing. Perhaps the duo were simply mapping out the route they’ll eventually take when it’s actually time to pick up their marriage license? Alternatively, maybe Bieber and Baldwin didn’t even visit the Marriage Bureau at all and just stopped by the City Clerk’s Office to learn more about lobbying procedures or to start the process of becoming Commissioners of Deeds. All equally exciting options!

Meghan Markle Is “Still the Same Person” She Was Before Becoming Royal, Per Her Makeup Artist

no thumb

Since announcing her engagement to Prince Harry last year and marrying him at Windsor Castle this past May, Meghan Markle has faced down more than her fair share of attacks from critics, cyberbullies, and her own family. Despite having to deal with all this pressure, however, Meghan has withstood it all with grace and poise, and, according to a close friend, has remained true to her old self the entire time.

In an interview with People this week, Daniel Martin, who was responsible for the Duchess of Sussex’s glowy wedding day makeup, opened up about Meghan’s strength of character amid the whirlwind of drama that often seems to follow her every move. “There’s a small group of us that check in with her and see how she’s doing, but she’s still the same person,” Martin said. “That’s why it’s so bizarre for me sometimes to even think about her in that way, because that’s not who I know.”

Meghan’s commitment to keeping this small group of old friends close could be a big part of why she hasn’t been changed by all the glitz and glamour of her new life as a member of the royal family. Just a few weeks ago, it was reported that the former Suits star had taken a secret trip back to Toronto to spend a low-key weekend with her close friend Jessica Mulroney. That getaway came shortly after Meghan and Harry were reported to have jetted off to Italy to spend a couple’s weekend at the Lake Como home of their new friends George and Amal Clooney.

And earlier this week, royal expert Omid Scobie told Good Morning America that Meghan’s mom, Doria Ragland, had gone completely under the radar when she flew across the pond to stay with Meghan and Harry in their Oxfordshire country home sometime during the summer. “Doria is said to enjoy a close relationship with Harry and continues to be a pillar of strength for Meghan,” Scobie tweeted about the incognito vacay.

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds Celebrated Their Wedding Anniversary by Doing “Nothing”

no thumb

Since Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds regularly attend glamorous movie premieres and awards shows together, they’re no strangers to getting glammed up for a night out. Their off-time, however, is spent in a decidedly more low-key manner. In an interview with Good Morning America on Wednesday, Lively described the extremely chill way in which she and her husband celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary this past Sunday: by doing nothing—no, in a romantic way.

Though Lively admitted that she spent much of the milestone working—she’s been on a whirlwind press tour ahead of the release of her upcoming film, A Simple Favor—she still found time for a little R&R with Reynolds and their two young daughters, James and Inez. “I mean, honestly, the best vacation we can have is to be able to do nothing with our family, so that’s what we did,” she said. “I had to explain to my daughter what an anniversary is. She’s like, ‘What is it? Does it mean you’re having another baby today?’ And I was like, ‘Dear God, no! It doesn’t, it means it’s our wedding’s birthday.'”

The 31-year-old also gave some insight into her and Reynolds’s parenting style, which was put on display earlier this year, when fans caught the pair jumping up and down at a Taylor Swift concert when James’s cameo at the beginning of the song “Gorgeous” played over the loudspeakers. “We were very embarrassing,” Lively told GMA of the proud moment. “That is the true, unfiltered version of our terrible stage-parent pride,” she said, but added that their daughters have “very normal lives, as much as that’s possible.”

Over the weekend, just in time for their anniversary, Lively left a sweet and possibly NSFW comment on a photo Reynolds posted on Instagram, showing a huge photo of himself on the side of a delivery truck for the alcohol company he co-owns, Aviation Gin. “Who needs a mini van?! I’m driving this from now on. Subtle, gorgeous, and OHMYGAWDYOUREHUGE,” read her LOL-worthy comment.

Meghan Markle Reportedly Sent Thank-You Notes to All Who Wished Her a Happy Birthday

GettyImages-883516550.jpg

Meghan Markle may still be brushing up on the finer points of royal etiquette, but it seems as if she’s got thank-you note etiquette down pat. On Tuesday, royal commentator Omid Scobie shared a photo on Twitter of the cards that the Duchess of Sussex reportedly sent to all who wished her a happy birthday last month.

Though Scobie didn’t share an inside look at the card, the outside features a color photograph of Meghan flashing a huge grin while greeting an excited group of well-wishers during a royal engagement with Prince Harry, who can be seen standing next to her in the photo. The cards were reportedly signed, sealed, and sent just over a month after Meghan’s 37th birthday, on August 4, placing her on the prompt end of the recommended one- to three-month time frame for sending thank-you notes after a birthday or wedding.

Contrary to usual practice, Meghan’s big day wasn’t actually all about her. On August 4, she and Harry attended the wedding of his longtime friend Charlie van Straubenzee and Daisy Jenks. The nuptials took place in a chapel in the village of Churt in Surrey, just southwest of London. For the sunny summer wedding, Meghan wore a navy Club Monaco dress and a navy fascinator, while her husband coordinated with her by pairing a royal blue vest and light blue tie with his traditional morning coat and gray striped trousers.

Though Meghan was undoubtedly showered with gifts once she and Harry returned to the palace, she reportedly wasn’t allowed to keep many of them. Per royal guidelines, members of the royal family aren’t allowed to accept from the public any gifts that come with strings attached or monetary offerings that aren’t directed toward a charity. They can, however, keep benign items like flowers, food, and books, or anything else that costs less than £150 ($195). So, if you sent your fave royal a B-day gift that abides by those guidelines, there’s a good chance you’ll be getting a sweet note in return.

Meghan Markle May Have Let Slip Her Nickname for Prince Harry

GettyImages-1025057414.jpg

Royals: They’re just like us! Meghan Markle demonstrated as much earlier this week, when, rather than referring to her husband by his proper full name of Prince Henry Charles Albert David, Duke of Sussex (relatable!), she seemed to have shortened it all down to a succinct little pet name that’ll surely sound familiar to the rest of us common folk. The moment was caught by the many cameras looking on as Meghan and Harry posed onstage with the cast of Hamilton, after taking in a charity gala performance of the hit musical on London’s West End, on Wednesday evening.

As seen in a clip of the interaction, the newlyweds are shuffling into place for a group photo with the ensemble when Meghan, realizing that she may be directly blocking her husband from view of the cameras, bobs and weaves in an attempt to help him find his “window” over her shoulder. Per Hello! and the fan accounts that reposted the video, at one point, Meghan turns around and appears to ask Harry, “Can you see, my love?” Almost immediately, the cast members around them had the appropriate, expected response: a synchronized “awww!” When she realized that her teeny bit of PDA had been overheard, Meghan let out a surprised “oh!” then raised a hand to her face and let a little bit of a blush creep into her cheeks.

WPA Pool/Getty Images

Luckily for those who love royal love, that’s not the only sweet moment the Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared on Wednesday night. As many eagle-eyed followers noticed, in the final group shot posted by the official Kensington Palace Twitter account after the show, Harry’s hand can be seen holding Meghan’s waist, keeping her close even among the already-crowded assembly. Again, cue the collective “awww!”

Wednesday night’s performance of Hamilton raised money for Sentebale, the charity Harry co-founded with Lesotho’s Prince Seeiso in 2006 to support children and young adults living with or around HIV/AIDS. At the end of the show, Harry grabbed the mic to address the crowd and dropped a few bars from one of the songs his sixth great-grandfather King George III sings in the show, while creator Lin-Manuel Miranda looked on. Watch the LOL-worthy moment below, and just imagine the embarrassed little giggle Meghan gave to that performance.

Paris Hilton Is Straight-Up Too Busy to Get Married Right Now, According to Her Mom

GettyImages-695472306.jpg

Now that she’s locked down her “fairytale” with fiancé Chris Zylka, Paris Hilton is in no hurry to walk down the aisle. Following previous reports that the lovebirds had pushed their wedding plans back from this fall to sometime next year, Hilton’s mom, Kathy, explained to Us Weekly this week the surprisingly practical reason for the delay.

“She’s got the new skincare [line], so she’s basically been traveling,” Kathy said of her daughter’s jam-packed work schedule. “She’s really been busy… She has contracts and you have to fulfill all [of] them, you know?” That said, when the big day does roll around, Kathy noted that it’ll be spectacular. “I think it will be what it always was gonna be: beautiful and, hopefully, what [Paris] likes. She’ll have her say in it,” Kathy said.

And, for the record, Hilton’s fiancé has her mom’s stamp of approval. “They just get along and they support each other and care for each other,” Kathy told the outlet. “They’re so sweet.” Love it!

Regardless of her flexible wedding date, Hilton has already made a sizable dent in the wedding-planning process. In March, just a few months after revealing Zylka had proposed on a New Year’s ski trip getaway in Colorado, the heiress already knew exactly who would be in charge of their wedding cake. “Hansen’s cake,” she told E! News at the time, referring to the popular Los Angeles–based bakery. “I’ve been having it since I was little for every birthday party. It’s the best tasting cake in the world.”

See more: How Should We Tell Our Guests That We’re Postponing Our Wedding?

The following month, Kathy confirmed that her daughter would be getting married in the same church where she’d tied the knot herself, and a few days later, Hilton shared that she’d officially chosen her wedding gown. “I did pick the final one!” she said at New York City’s Beautycon Festival in April. “It is so iconic and I can’t wait for everyone to see.” While it may be several months before we see the “iconic” dress, we do know that it’ll give off major “Disney princess vibes,” and, presumably, made Hilton utter the highest praise of all: “That’s hot.”

Ariana Grande Hints at a Date for Her and Pete Davidson's Wedding

GettyImages-1020262574.jpg

For a while, it seemed as though you couldn’t check the news without learning of yet another whirlwind celebrity engagement. Now, however, things have calmed down and, it seems, those newly engaged couples—Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson, Hailey Baldwin and Justin Bieber, Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas—are taking their time planning their respective weddings. Latest to claim she won’t be walking down the aisle until 2019 is Grande, who opened up about her and Davidson’s fast-moving relationship to Good Morning America‘s Michael Strahan in a new interview this week.

Though the pair confirmed their engagement only a few weeks after making their relationship Instagram official, Grande told Strahan that she and Davidson are in no rush to tie the knot. “We’re gonna take our time to plan it. We’ve been planning, and my friends and I, my mom, and everybody have been, like, brainstorming and sharing ideas and stuff, and it’s really fun,” the pop star said. “I work so much. I’ve never spent this much time or energy planning something personal that feeds my soul so much and my heart.”

“I’m going to cry, I’m so excited. It’s sick. It’s really fun!” she continued, but clarified that the wedding won’t be “soon soon.” “It’s gonna be, like, next year,” she said.

See more: All the Celebrities Who Have Gotten Engaged This Year…So Far!

Grande also explained to Strahan how she knew the Saturday Night Live star was the person with whom she wanted to spend the rest of her life. “I mean, it’s just, like, a feeling, you know? That’s so cheesy. People are always like, ‘When you know, you know,’ and you’re like, ‘Oh, yeah, whatever, OK. Yeah, OK.'” But it’s true: When Strahan dug deeper, asking how Grande knew Davidson was her “soulmate,” as she refers to him on the song on her new album Sweetener that’s named after him, she said, “You just feel it, you know? He just ticks every box and just gets better every day, and I’m very grateful for him. Life is beautiful.”

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West Reportedly Have “One Last Embryo”

GettyImages-980368426.jpg

The Great Kardashian-Jenner Baby Boom may be over for now (hi, Chicago, Stormi, and True!), but that doesn’t mean Kris Jenner won’t be getting any more grandchildren. According to a new report from Us Weekly, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are reportedly considering having one more baby.

One source claims that Kimye has “one last embryo left,” and that its sex is male. Another insider said that the couple, already parents to five-year-old daughter North, two-year-old son Saint, and seven-month-old daughter Chicago, are reportedly planning to implant that embryo in a gestational carrier “soon.”

The Wests previously turned to a gestational carrier to carry Chicago, who was born in January. Kardashian West has been open about her experiences with preeclampsia and placenta accreta while pregnant with North and Saint, her doctor’s warnings that she shouldn’t carry any more children herself, and her subsequent feelings about surrogacy. “Anyone that says or thinks [surrogacy] is just the easy way out is just completely wrong. I think it is so much harder to go through it this way, because you are not really in control,” she said in November 2017, shortly after confirming that she and Kanye were expecting their third child. “Knowing that I was able to carry my first two babies and not, you know, my baby now, it’s hard for me. So, it’s definitely a harder experience than I anticipated, just in the control area.”

And earlier this year, after Chicago’s arrival, Kardashian West shared why her fourth child will likely be her last. “My home and my heart feel really full right now, in the best way,” she said in her April 2018 cover story for Elle. “I don’t think I could handle more than [four]. My time is spread really thin. And I think it’s important that in all couples, the mom gives the husband as much attention as the kids.”

Time to start brainstorming one last instantly iconic West baby name—maybe Kanye will reconsider Noel?

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Went on a Double Date With George and Amal Clooney

harry-george-meghan-amal.jpg

Between all the jet-setting to amazing places around the globe, waving at adoring admirers, and living in literal castles, being a royal is hard work. Therefore, it only makes sense that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry would need to get away from it all and spend their weekends relaxing in other gorgeous locales outside the Commonwealth like, for example, George and Amal Clooney‘s Lake Como home. According to Us Weekly, that’s exactly what happened this past weekend.

“The Clooneys had personally invited Meghan and Harry to their home at the beginning of the summer with an open invitation,” an unnamed source told Us Weekly, explaining that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex flew to Italy on Thursday, August 16, and stayed with the Clooneys for three nights. “George and Amal were so happy to host Meghan and Harry. Harry and George have a special bond and friendship.”

Samir Hussein/Getty Images

The source added that the weekend getaway marked the first time Meghan and Harry had met the Clooneys’ 14-month-old twins, Alexander and Ella. “They spent the entire weekend at their home and enjoyed the privacy and security the Clooneys had for them there,” the insider said of Harry and Meghan, who have previously been “spending most of their summer in their Oxfordshire home,” according to the source.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been friends with the Clooneys for a while now. Not only did the latter receive invites to the royal wedding in May, but Amal was also reported to have taken Meghan under her wing upon the Suits star-turned-duchess’s arrival in London. “Meghan and Amal have known each other for a while [and share] many interests,” a source told People in May. “Amal has been helping Meghan settle into London life,” they added. “It was a very natural friendship from day one.”

Meghan Markle's Givenchy Wedding Dress May Go on Display at Windsor Castle Later This Year

GettyImages-960063338.jpg

Sadly, after spending lots (and lots) of money on a wedding dress, wearing it for a few hours, and taking as many photos in it as possible, most brides typically pack up their gowns and never see them again. Meghan Markle, however, isn’t most brides. According to The Daily Express, the Duchess of Sussex’s custom Givenchy gown from her May wedding to Prince Harry could go on display at Windsor Castle sometime before the end of this year, and rightfully so.

Royals sources told The Daily Express that palace officials are reportedly in talks to make Meghan’s wedding dress the focal point of an exhibition that would be open to the public at Windsor Castle, the site of Meghan and Harry’s nuptials. A spokesperson for the Royal Collection Trust, which oversees the many royal residences, told The Daily Express that, if the exhibition is indeed finalized, an official announcement will be made before the end of 2018.

To refresh your memory: Meghan’s gown was custom designed by Givenchy creative director Clare Waight Keller and featured a bateau neckline, three-quarter-length sleeves, and a long, trailing train, all done in triple silk organza. She completed the look with Queen Mary’s diamond bandeau tiara, loaned to her by Queen Elizabeth II, and a dreamy, floaty veil that was hand-embroidered with flowers from across the Commonwealth and measured 16 feet long.

Shortly after the wedding, Waight Keller spoke to Good Morning America about how the gown had been received by Meghan’s new husband. “[Prince Harry] came straight up to me and he said, ‘Oh my God, thank you! She looks absolutely stunning,'” Waight Keller said. “Well, I think everybody saw on television—he was absolutely in awe, I think. She looked just incredible and it showed.” The designer added, “So, I think for the both of them, they were just radiant at that time.”

Kanye West Wore Socks With Sandals to 2 Chainz's Wedding and the Internet Can't Handle It

Summer weddings can be tricky to dress for. If it’s indoors, you have to bring along an extra layer so you don’t freeze from the A/C, but if the party’s outside, you have to find an outfit that won’t leave you covered in sweat stains. Over the weekend, Kanye West addressed this dilemma head-on, attending fellow rapper 2 Chainz‘s wedding in an outfit that was both breezy enough in the suffocating Miami heat and comfortable enough for a long night of dancing inside the Villa Casa Casuarina hotel—all while being a bizarre enough ensemble to leave the Internet collectively scratching their heads.

For his pal’s wedding, West donned a pale-green linen Louis Vuitton suit and matching pants, opting to wear nothing under the blazer but a few gold chains. On his feet, inexplicably, he wore a gray pair of puffy Yeezy slides (that looked to be a bit too small?) over plain white socks. Meanwhile, Kim Kardashian West coordinated with her husband’s suit in a skintight ankle-length dress in neon green with a wide slit up her left leg, but shoe-wise, chose a more traditionally wedding-appropriate pair of strappy gold heels.

And here’s a shot of those Yeezy slides that West posted earlier this month:

Almost immediately upon seeing photos from the Wests’ wedding outing, people took to social media to express their confusion over the musician’s choice of footwear. While some firmly stated their belief that socks and sandals should be reserved only for quick runs out to the car or mailbox, others simply had to ask: “What are THOOOOOSE?!”

That said, Kimye’s creative ensembles weren’t exactly out of place at the wedding. During the ceremony, 2 Chainz sported a shiny gold blazer and black pants, while longtime partner Kesha Ward wore a vibrant red gown; for the reception, the newlyweds changed into an ornately detailed white suit and bedazzled gown, respectively. Though nobody else appears to have worn Yeezy slides—let alone socks with sandals—to the wedding, West was undoubtedly happy with his footwear choice after a few rounds on the dance floor.

See the Moment Meghan Markle Was Handed Her Wedding Bouquet Before Walking Down the Aisle

GettyImages-960071704.jpg

If you thought you had already overanalyzed every single tiny detail from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s royal wedding in May, think again. This week, several outlets have pointed out one thing you may not have noticed about Meghan’s walk down the aisle three months ago — likely due to being (understandably) distracted by her gorgeous Givenchy gown. Rather than carrying her bouquet with her to St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, Meghan had her flowers handed to her once she actually entered the church.

As you can see in video of Meghan’s arrival, which the BBC shared back on her wedding day, she makes her grand arrival at St. George’s empty-handed. It’s not until she walks over the threshold of the chapel, greets the pastor, and joins the slow procession down the aisle that a dark-haired woman wearing a light-colored outfit and standing in the very back of the church can be seen handing Meghan her bouquet. The moment happens around the 2:28 mark of this clip, courtesy of the BBC:

Though some outlets have stirred up some confusion by musing whether Kate Middleton might have been the mystery brunette who handed her new sister-in-law her flowers, that’s definitely not the case. While Kate does share the same hair color as the bouquet passer and was also wearing a light-colored dress, she had already been seated at the very front of the chapel for quite some time before Meghan’s arrival.

In fact, the woman in question was likely Samantha Cohen, a former private secretary of Queen Elizabeth II who has recently helped Meghan through her “princess lessons” and is set to become Prince Harry’s private secretary sometime later this summer, according to People. Not only does Cohen have a similar haircut and color to Kate’s, but she also opted to wear a pale pink dress to the royal wedding. Plus, in her role of helping Meghan assimilate into the royal family, it would make sense that Cohen would’ve served as something of a logistics manager at Meghan’s wedding, ensuring everything went according to plan. Case closed!

Priyanka Chopra Showed Off What Might Be Her Engagement Ring From Nick Jonas

GettyImages-982048436.jpg

It’s been almost a month since Nick Jonas reportedly proposed to Priyanka Chopra, and the lovebirds still have yet to explicitly confirm that they’re engaged. At this point, the only semblance of a confirmation is an anonymously sourced report claiming that, while at a party, Jonas said “thanks, man” to someone who apparently congratulated him on popping the question—so, take that as you will. Finally, however, on Tuesday afternoon, Chopra oh-so-subtly dropped a major hint that she might have, indeed, agreed to marry the former boy bander.

That hint came in the form of a massive, sparkly diamond ring that Chopra flashed in a set of two selfies her pal Raveena Tandon, a Bollywood actress, posted on Instagram. Though Tandon attempted to place the focus on her and Chopra’s pouty expressions with her caption, their innocuous face-pulling couldn’t steal the spotlight from Chopra’s gorgeous new piece of jewelry. The ring appears to feature a large, cushion-cut diamond set in a silver or platinum band and surrounded by smaller, tapered baguettes. Needless to say, it’s stunning.

The ring is likely the work of Tiffany & Co., since Jonas was rumored to have rented out the company’s entire London outpost on July 18, Chopra’s 36th birthday, to serve as the backdrop for his grand proposal. The Quantico actress previously seemed to flash her new jewelry earlier this month, when she arrived at the New Delhi airport and stealthily pulled something sparkly off her left hand before walking outside, right past the paparazzi’s curious lenses.

Though Chopra and Jonas have kept things pretty low-key since they first started dating, just a few months ago, it’s possible that this weekend could mark their finally going public with the (rumored) engagement. Earlier this week, Mumbai-based English-language newspaper Daily News and Analysis reported that the pair are flying their families into Mumbai this weekend, apparently to celebrate their engagement as one big family. Once that’s taken care of, perhaps an Insta-official confirmation for the rest of us will be the next step?

Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra Will Reportedly Celebrate Their Engagement in Mumbai This Weekend

GettyImages-986363884.jpg

By now, Nick Jonas has met Priyanka Chopra‘s family, traveled with her to India, and introduced his rumored fiancée to his own family. All that’s left to do now for the duo, who reportedly got engaged on July 18, Chopra’s birthday, is to introduce their respective families. According to Mumbai-based English-language newspaper Daily News and Analysis, that’s exactly what’s happening this weekend, when Jonas and Chopra, along with their families, will reportedly celebrate their (still unconfirmed) engagement in Mumbai on Saturday.

“Priyanka has sent out messages to close friends and family members to set aside time on August 18 for a party. It’s exactly a month after her birthday and those close to the Quantico actress feel that she may make an official announcement about her relationship status at the bash. However, the venue of the do has been kept under wraps,” an unnamed source told DNA.

Of course, take this all with a grain of salt. Not only does this report of an upcoming engagement party come from an anonymous source, but Jonas and Chopra, again, still have yet to confirm, deny, or comment at all on the rumors that Jonas popped the question weeks ago.

Reports that the pair were engaged after about two months of dating first surfaced at the end of July. Sources told People at the time that, on Chopra’s 36th birthday, Jonas had pulled a total rom-com move and rented out an entire Tiffany & Co. store in London to serve as the glamorous locale for his question-popping. And though they haven’t publicly acknowledged those rumors, Jonas reportedly said “thanks, man” to a well-wisher who congratulated him on his engagement last week. Just a few days before that, Chopra was spotted attempting to hide the shiny piece of jewelry on her left hand as she was swarmed by paparazzi upon her arrival at the New Delhi airport.

Kris Jenner May Have Confirmed That She and Corey Gamble Are Engaged

GettyImages-964686216.jpg

For the last few weeks, rumors that Kris Jenner and her longtime boyfriend Corey Gamble had gotten engaged have been making their way through Calabasas and beyond, thanks to the massive diamond ring she’s been wearing on her left hand since the end of July. Though the entire Kardashian-Jenner squad has stayed mum on the topic ever since, this week, James Corden may have pried a quasi-confirmation out of the famed momager herself.

The big moment came on Tuesday night’s episode of The Late Late Show, during a game of “Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts,” in which Corden and his guest take turns asking each other tough questions and, if their opponent opts not to answer, choosing a disgusting food for them to eat instead. At the very end of the segment, Corden placed a bowl of crickets in front of Jenner and asked, “You’ve been spotted wearing a massive diamond ring on your wedding finger—are you and Corey Gamble engaged?” Facing down the tiny insects, Jenner let out a faint “no,” then clarified that that wasn’t her answer to the question, but rather her announcement that she wouldn’t be answering it at all.

As the camera flashed to Gamble, watching it all go down from offstage, and Jenner appeared to be having some trouble building up the courage to eat one of the crickets, Corden kept pushing. “The ring’s right there! It’s a bit of a giveaway,” he said, pointing at the diamond-encrusted band on Jenner’s left hand. Unknowingly falling into the host’s trap, a still-distraught Jenner replied, “This isn’t the ring!” seemingly implying, as Corden was quick to point out, that that means there is apparently an engagement ring. Realizing she’d maybe put her foot in her mouth, Jenner downed a single cricket and would say no more. Fin.

The ring in question features an enormous rectangle-cut diamond set in a simple band, and would make sense as an engagement ring, since Jenner and Gamble have been dating for more than four years. That said, the 62-year-old has previously expressed her reluctance to walk down the aisle again. “You know, I’ve done that twice, and it didn’t work out so well. So I don’t know. You never know,” Jenner, who was previously married to Robert Kardashian and Caitlyn Jenner, told Ellen DeGeneres in 2017. She went on to imply that she’d be happy to live with Gamble in unwedded bliss for the foreseeable future, saying, “I’m going to take a page out of Goldie and Kurt’s book, or Kourtney’s book. I just think as long as things are going so well, why ruffle it up?”
